With four seasons under its belt, Selling Sunset already has a strong and loyal fanbase, and fans have definitely weighed in on the show’s most exciting and least diverting storylines. The show, which first premiered on Netflix in 2019, has captured viewers’ attention with multi-million dollar properties and plenty of catty drama. However, as with any show, some storylines have become fan favorites, while others crash and burn.

Over the course of 34 Selling Sunset episodes, fans have seen a number of storylines that are memorable and heartfelt, as well as scenarios that seem to have little to no place on the show. There are allegations that Selling Sunset is scripted, but some viewers do believe in the onscreen action. Now, it’s time to talk about which storylines from the last four seasons have been the best and the worst.

Although the first seasons of shows aren’t always the best, Selling Sunset season 1 is commendable. The inaugural season, which introduced fans to The Oppenheim Group’s realtors, had decent storylines that didn’t drag on like the story arcs from later seasons. While some scenarios did carry over into the second season, fans weren’t left watching the same Selling Sunset fights constantly being rehashed. The women in the office were much more understanding and empathic towards each other when there were misunderstandings.

While drama is key for reality TV, sometimes, it’s not always needed. In terms of the best parts of Selling Sunset, one cast member seems to benefit from a lack of involvement in the office drama. Maya Vander, who is described by fans as an underrated queen, is The Oppenheim Group’s resident instigator. She tried not to overtly involve herself in the Selling Sunset drama. Relatively friendly with all of the girls, Maya tends to stay fairly neutral, while the others can be very cliquey. The only downside to Maya’s limited involvement is that her storylines over the last four seasons have pretty much all been the same. In season 1, she announced her first pregnancy, and it was such good news following her previous miscarriages. However, since then, the pregnancy storylines have become repetitive. As the office instigator or comic relief, it doesn’t seem like Maya is being used to her full potential.

As for Selling Sunset‘s worst storylines over the last four seasons, the realtor and broker Davina Potratz is known for having some of the worst storylines overall. Since being promoted to a full cast member following the first season, Davina hasn’t had the best reputation in the office. Often aligning herself with Christine Quinn, Davina comes off as cold and calculated, especially when it comes to her questioning of Mary’s engagement ring and her relationship in season 1. She also commented on Chrishell’s unexpected divorce in season 3. As well, she challenged Brett and Jason on the seventy-five million dollar listing, which still remains unsold. Overall, her storylines seem to fall flat, and although she was granted a redemption arc in season 4, there probably won’t be a comeback for Davina in terms of the fans.

And last, but certainly not least, fans seem to be underwhelmed with season 4’s storylines as a whole. Centering around Christine Quinn and ‘new girl’, Emma Hernan, the drama seemed petty and totally unnecessary. Much like the introduction and involvement of the other new girl in the office, Vanessa Villela, whose whole purpose during season 4 was to further instigate the drama. Fans were not afraid to express their distaste and questioned why Christine from Selling Sunset was still so hung up on something that happened five years ago when she is now happily married and caring for a newborn.
