In a battle between two of the strongest heroes in the Marvel Universe, Blue Marvel and Sentry, a winner was revealed. However, the epic fight was extremely close, as both powerhouses landed some impressive blows and showed off their insane power levels. But, in the end, Sentry reigned supreme, but Blue Marvel didn’t exactly relent or was a pushover – as Sentry required the help of the Avengers to stop his fellow hero.

Blue Marvel and Sentry are staggeringly powerful as time forgot both heroes for different reasons. Sentry, real name Bob Reynolds, made the entire Marvel Universe forget who he was to suppress his dark side known as The Void from emerging. Sentry has the power of a million exploding suns and is generally considering the strongest Marvel hero ever. Meanwhile, Blue Marvel, aka Adam Brashear, is a decorated soldier and scientist who gained anti-matter powers after an accident involving a reactor changed his physiology. Sadly, despite saving the world, the United States forced Blue Marvel into hiding after determining the world wasn’t ready for a Black superhero in the 1960s. Both heroes would later return and fight in a showcase of pure power.

In Adam: The Legend of Blue Marvel miniseries by Kevin Grevioux, Mat Broome, Roberto Castro, John Rauch, and Dave Lanphear, the Avengers intervene on Blue Marvel attempting to stop Anti-Man. Sentry tells his fellow Avengers to stand back, telling them he wants to show off his true power. Blue Marvel and Sentry exchange blows before the golden hero smashes the hero into the ground using his mighty strength. Blue Marvel responds by hitting the hero into space. Quickly recovering, a tired Sentry uses the last of his energy to knock out Blue Marvel.

Sentry ultimately wins the fight, but there are some caveats to his victory. First of all, Blue Marvel was taking on the entire Avengers by himself before Sentry separated himself and took on the hero. Secondly, Sentry lost a previous fight against Anti-Man, who Blue Marvel would later defeat. So, while Sentry was the victor of the battle, it came with a giant asterisk beside it. If Sentry and Blue Marvel fought 100 times, the former would win more matches, but not by a super-wide margin.

With Sentry’s head clear and at his full power, nobody is beating him. However, Blue Marvel is one of the few heroes who could conceivably take him out, as his anti-matter powers and pure strength rival Sentry’s incredible might. Blue Marvel might have lost the fight against Sentry, but there’s no guarantee he would do so again if he matched up against the Avenger again in the future.
