Throughout Sex and the City‘s original series, two movies, and revival, Miranda and Carrie have always been each other’s go-to best friends, even when in a group with Samantha and Charlotte. Carrie and Miranda understood and respected each other in a way that they didn’t with the other women.

As close as Miranda and Carrie were, the two did have a handful of rare fights that had a negative effect on their friendship. Things got very personal during their arguments, making these conflicts all the more emotional.

8 Did Carrie Talk About Big Too Much?

After one of Carrie and Big’s many breakups in their relationship timeline, she had a hard time moving on. And although she was upbeat and optimistic about her future, she wouldn’t stop talking about him to the girls.

Miranda (along with Charlotte and Samantha) couldn’t handle how much Carrie talked about Big. As a unit, Miranda told Carrie they were hosting an intervention because she was too obsessed with the past. Miranda encouraged Carrie to get a therapist because she couldn’t handle hearing her anymore. Carrie and Miranda didn’t hold their feelings over each other, so the disagreement didn’t last past lunch.

7 Carrie Ditches Miranda (And The Girls) For Whoever She’s Dating

It’s no secret that Carrie could be an awful friend. As much as she loved and needed her girlfriends, she didn’t always give them the respect they deserved.

One of the bigger disagreements Miranda and Carrie got into was when Carrie was supposed to meet up with Miranda for dinner. After waiting a while, Miranda called Carrie to see where she was. As it turned out, Carrie got caught up with Big and stayed at his apartment to have dinner with him. Miranda was left alone and was bothered that her friend just ditched her, yet again, for a guy. However, this moment wasn’t their biggest fight…

6 Miranda Was Tired Of Talking About Men

The main characters in Sex and the City are all bright, educated women. There were a plethora of things the women could talk about at their brunches but most of their conversations centered around men or sex.

While Carrie complained about Big and Samantha vented about her boyfriend’s genitals, Miranda had enough. She was sick of her friends talking about nothing outside of their relationships. Miranda stormed away from Carrie and told her to call her when she was done complaining.

5 Miranda Needed Carrie, Not Aidan

When Miranda hurt her neck after getting out of the shower, the only person she called was Carrie. She trusted Carrie and needed her when she was alone, naked, and stuck on the bathroom floor.

However, Carrie had a meeting and couldn’t get out of it it. The next best thing she could do was send Aidan to help. Sadly, Miranda felt uncomfortable with Aidan helping her and was mad at Carrie for not being there. When Carrie showed up at Miranda’s apartment the following day, Miranda let her know how upset she was. Meanwhile, the only thing Carrie could do was talk about the bagels she brought as a way out of being scolded.

4 Carrie Got A Steamy Awakening

Fans can agree that Sex and the City is better than the revival. Many felt that And Just Like That tried too hard to be modern and missed out on the original things that made Sex and the City the success that it was.

In the revival, Carrie and Miranda got into an argument over Carrie’s boss, Che Diaz. Even though Miranda was supposed to be looking after Carrie while she was recovering from her hip surgery, she proceeded to have sex with Che in Carrie’s kitchen. Carrie heard and saw it all and was irate that Miranda did that in her kitchen when she needed her most. The conversation led to a few truth bombs about Miranda’s life but Carrie was scandalized by Miranda’s actions.

3 Lunch With Big

In the third season, Carrie admitted to Miranda during a shopping trip that she was going to grab lunch with Big. Miranda was livid because she hated that her best friend was getting involved in a toxic relationship again.

Although Carrie and Big were just meeting for lunch, Carrie needed Miranda for support. However, Miranda wanted nothing to do with Carrie’s relationship because she knew it was going to go up in smoke and was tired of helping her. This was one of the pair’s biggest fights with Miranda storming out of the store without Carrie.

2 Moving To Paris Caused A Blowout Fight

When Carrie fell in love with Alexandr Petrovsky, she decided to move to Paris with him and start fresh. However, Miranda felt like it was too soon in the relationship for Carrie to make such a big move. While Charlotte thought it was romantic and necessary for Carrie’s happy ending, Miranda hated that Carrie quit her job to follow a man across the world.

The friends got into a screaming match over Carrie’s choices and Carrie left for Paris on a sour note. It was one of their biggest fights.

1 Miranda Did Not Help Matters In The First Movie

Fans are torn on if the first Sex and the City movie was better or worse than the sequel. Regardless, the movie had the biggest argument between Carrie and Miranda.

In the movie, Miranda had problems with Stev,e and told Big he was “crazy to get married” the day before his wedding to Carrie. Miranda’s words spooked Big and he left Carrie at the altar. Miranda knew she had something to do with Big’s cold feet but didn’t have the heart to tell Carrie until months later. Miranda’s admission killed Carrie because she kept it from her for so long. The two stopped talking to each other until things cooled down. They eventually shared their truths and were okay by the end of the movie, but it was the wost SATC fans saw them.
