After losing one of the show’s dearest characters in the previous season, Shameless returned to the TV screens with its second last season on Showtime. The show said goodbye to Emmy Rossum’s Fiona Gallagher and the fans felt that the writers wouldn’t have enough gripping storylines to tell.

The fears turned out to be true, as the tenth season of the evergreen comedy-drama received its worst ratings ever. With Fiona gone, Debbie needs to step up and take care of the house, while Lip and Tami begin their lives as parents. Ian and Mickey struggle to keep their relationship going and Frank seems to have found a new friend. Here’s how every episode from the tenth outing of the series ranks according to IMDb.

11 “O Captain, My Captain” (6.9)

In the ninth episode of season 10, Lip and Tami go all the way to Milwaukee to see the new house given to them by Mr. Tamietti, while Ian and Mickey are struggling to connect, thanks to the half marriage proposal. Moreover, Debbie has a strange encounter with Claudia’s daughter Julia and Frank is tortured by Faye as he recalls some memories from the past.

10 “A Little Gallagher Goes A Long Way” (7.0)

In the fourth episode of season 10, the best bits come from the moments Frank and Mikey spend together because it could be their last. Mickey has a life-threatening disease but he is not going away unless some of his dreams come true. Elsewhere, Lip finds a friend who can give him parenting advice. And Debbie needs to come up with new ways to earn money.

8 “Which America?” (7.4)

In the third episode of season 10, Ian and Mickey have a tough decision to make about their future but considering how they both usually react to things, a solution is easier said than done.

Back at the Gallagher house, Frank has earned a promotion and he is absolutely loving life. He and Mikey seem to be hitting it off. Moreover, Lip is struggling with the parenting bit.

7 “Sleep Well My Prince For Tomorrow You Shall Be King” (7.5)

In the second episode of season 10, inside the prison, Ian and Mickey are struggling to keep the fire alive. It seems a break might do both of them a lot of good. Elsewhere, Lip has to focus all his energy on taking care of his newborn son, but he has a long way to go and a lot of things to learn. Also, Frank has to earn his place in the house, with Mikey by his side.

6 “Debbie Might Be A Prostitute” (7.5)

In the eighth episode of season 10, as the title suggests, Debbie struggles to understand what it is that she has become because it’s confusing for her after Claudia offers her money for something she did out of pleasure. Meanwhile, Frank figures the jackpot he has hit, thanks to Faye, while Ian and Mickey have a fierce showdown conversation.

5 “We Few, We Lucky Few, We Band Of Gallaghers” (7.6)

In the first episode of season 10, Carl returns from military school, but not as the hero he considered himself to do. Also, his relationship with Kelly seems to be going as strong as ever. Also, Frank is trying to do everything he can to earn some more drugs for his injury.

4 “Sparky” (7.7)

In the fifth episode of season 10, Frank has another one of his scamming ideas, when someone unexpectedly shows up, while Lip struggles to give up control on Fred, as Tami returns home.

Despite Brad’s advice, Lip does something regrettable. Moreover, as he returns home, Ian finds himself in bed with a corrupt parole officer. He is about to learn the harsh ways of the world.

3 “Citizen Carl” (7.7)

In the seventh episode of season 10, Carl wants to do some good, as he wants to use his homicidal tendencies to make his neighborhood better. Frank meets a new woman, who goes by the name of Faye and she seems to be rich. Also, Kevin and Veronica must find new customers for The Alibi, after their most productive drinker dies of an overdose.

In the tenth episode of season 10, the best things come from Lip and his inability to let his crazy family go. It’s as if he cannot leave the south side of Chicago, even if it means getting settled with Lip and Tami. It’s understandable, to be honest because without the place he knows so well, he could easily become an alcoholic again, which is something he despises the most.

2 “Location, Location, Location” (7.8)

In the penultimate episode of season 10, Mickey and Ian are planning their wedding but there’s a catch, Mickey has gone all paranoid about the smallest of things. Debbie, on the other hand, has found herself in a lot of trouble, thanks to her lovemaking abilities, while Frank has moved into Faye’s house while she has gone to Puerto Rico. Also, Lip and Tami have a disagreement.

1 “Gallavich” (9.1)

The season 10 finale is all about the wedding of Mickey and Ian, with Terry acting as the antagonist. He is hell-bent at killing his own son if it means he’ll not marry Mickey. Also, Julia has come to live with Debbie, which isn’t necessarily a good thing. Lip and Tami have a lot to figure out when it comes to their future. The finale is absolutely breathless.
