The swift arrival of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings lines up accordingly with the release of Free Guy, another Disney property that saw an exclusive theatrical debut that arrived on digital platforms 45 days after its premiere and will hit shelves two months after the fact. While some films still struggle to capture pre-pandemic success, the MCU title has proven to be a smash hit for the studio with its sole theatrical release, grossing over $366 million against its estimated $200 million budget, setting a record for the largest Labor Day opening weekend ever and beating out fellow MCU film Black Widow as the biggest domestic grosser for the year. This success will likely continue as the film comes to home media, especially given the range of special features included on the various releases.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings received positive reception for its humor and Liu previously teased the existence of a blooper reel and Awkwafina’s large contribution to the hilarity from it, making it an enticing draw for fans to pick up a home release. Additionally, with 11 deleted scenes offering more screen time for Florian Munteanu’s Razor Fist and better highlighting the relationship between Wenwu and Shang-Chi, there is certainly plenty for audiences to dive into. The wait won’t be long as Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings hits digital platforms on November 12 and shelves on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on November 30.
