Siesta Key: Madisson ‘Glad’ MTV Is Fighting Stigma After Losing Baby

Siesta Key Madisson Hausburg is happy to share her pregnancy journey on the show despite losing her baby as it fights the stigma abound stillbirth and miscarriages. During the finale of season 4, part 1, Madisson and her husband Ish Soto announced that they were expecting a baby. Their friends and costars were so excited for the couple, and Madisson also shared her excitement for becoming a mom and meeting her baby. Unfortunately, the couple shared in December that Madisson had given birth to a stillborn baby. The pair shared photos and endearing messages on their Instagrams, letting fans know about the tragedy. On January 1, what was meant to be the baby’s due date, Madisson got a tattoo of her son’s name, Elliot, on her arm.

However, part 2 of Siesta Key’s fourth season began filming before Madisson and Ish’s loss, meaning that lots of footage covered the reality star’s pregnancy journey. In the recent episode, the two went to a doctor’s appointment where Madisson got to see her baby in a sonogram. The couple agreed to be surprised by the baby’s gender and referred to him as “Tiny” for the time being. The new season also follows the couple’s journey to their wedding. Madisson and Ish got married in October, and there were rumors the ceremony was filmed for Siesta Key. From the looks of the season 4 trailer, it seems this is the case.

While the scenes may seem triggering, the star is grateful that the show is documenting her pregnancy despite her tragic loss. Madisson took to Twitter to express how happy she is that MTV is ending the stigma around stillbirth and miscarriages. “Baby loss is NOT talked about enough, which leaves loss parents feeling invalidated, hurt, and alone!!” Madisson tweeted. “I’m so glad @mtv is choosing to fight the stigma and share my story. My beautiful Elliot deserves to be known and shared, just like every other baby! Thank you @SiestaKey.” Fans replied, sending love and positivity to the show’s star and also shared their own experiences. 

One fan praised the star for sharing her experience and agreeing that no one should ever have to feel alone. Madisson revealed that she has been terrified to get pregnant again after her stillbirth. The star has tried conceiving again after getting her doctor’s permission; however, she is still mourning the loss of Elliot. The MTV star shared photos of her son’s urn to Instagram, letting fans know that she’s still heartbroken but ready to move forward with motherhood. Madisson’s stillborn birth came about a month after fellow MTV star Whitney Port opened up about her struggles with getting pregnant and past experiences with miscarriages.

Madisson and Ish’s experience is something only the two of them will ever understand. However, there are so many women who have been in similar situations, and her bravery in sharing her story has offered so much help to them. No one should ever feel silenced or unheard, and MTV’s fight to end the stigma around losing a baby will offer so much relief to other grieving mothers. The Siesta Key star’s vulnerability and courage are much appreciated.
