Sims 4 Recreation of Beauty & The Beast’s Library Is a Fairytale Dream

A Sims 4 player shared a creation straight out of a fairy tale this week with their build of Belle’s library from Beauty and the Beast. The iconic library is the latest in a list of stunning creations from The Sims community, one of the most active video game communities when it comes to making and sharing content. Since the game’s release in 2014, fans of the series have made a myriad of impressive creations within the game and shared them with others on The Sims Gallery.

The Sims 4 is a game centered around user creativity: players are given a large amount of choice when it comes to designing their Sims and where they live, along with the choices their character makes within the game. An extensive array of available in-game objects allow for players to create extremely detailed builds, often inspiring gamers to recreate famous locales from both history and fiction. Expansion packs for The Sims 4 expand on the options given by the base game and add even more objects for players to choose from, with an average of almost 300 new items included in every full-sized expansion.

Reddit user peepssinthechilipot shared their own fantastical build this week, displaying pictures of their recreation of the library from Beauty and the Beast. In the movies, the library is a gift from the Beast to Belle, and is an extremely large and ornate room filled to the brim with books. The user – who spent a month on the project – managed to perfectly capture the epic proportions of the library, with the build featuring huge staircases surrounded by a staggering 158 bookcases. They also included more subtle references to the movies, like a rose contained in a Ghost Filled Jar from The Sims: Paranormal Stuff Pack, a nod to the Enchanted Rose in Beauty and the Beast. Funnily enough, since The Sims 4 does not include any beast-like humanoid characters players can create naturally, the Beast has been represented by a dog.

Surprisingly, this incredibly detailed creation was made without the use of any custom content. Although The Sims 4 series includes a huge range of items for players to choose from, for builds that are a specific reference to something players will often look to custom content for what they need. For example, a build set within a certain time period may require era-appropriate furniture the game doesn’t provide. For a fairy tale build as large as this one, most veteran players would assume selections from the wide array of Sims 4 custom content were used. However, the only custom content utilized in this build is used for Belle’s appearance.

This beautiful creation really exemplifies the continued creativity within The Sims 4 community. Recreations like this, when made available for download on The Sims 4 Gallery, allow for lots of users to play out their own storylines with their Sims within famous places from history and fiction. Despite the game being released over 7 years ago, players are still thinking of fun new things to build in the game and sharing them with others.
