In 1994, Tia and Tamera Mowry starred as twin sisters Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell in Sister, Sister. In the sitcom, Tia and Tamera were adopted and split apart at birth but found each other when shopping at a mall. Tia and Tamera’s parents didn’t want to split the sisters up again so they all moved in under the same roof, creating an iconic sitcom.

Over six seasons, Sister, Sister fans met Tia and Tamera’s friends, love-interests, and their adorably annoying neighbor Roger. But which character comes out on top as the most likable? Like many other sitcoms, characters have their downfalls and flaws to flesh them out. Scroll below to see which characters fans loved the most.

7 Diavian Johnson

Tia and Tamera had plenty of friends over the course of six seasons but they slowly faded out. Diavian was one of the sisters’ friends who stayed around the longest, however, and was in 27 episodes. And as loyal and committed of a friend as Diavian was, she also had her flaws. In one episode, she begged the girls to pay for her clothes when they were just given a credit card and in another episode, she locked lips with Tia’s boyfriend Tyreke, which caused a whole bunch of drama in the group. However, her shortcomings made her relationship with the girls all the more relatable for viewers.

6 Jordan Bennett

Tamera began dating Jordan Bennett in the fifth season after meeting at the school paper. Jordan ran the school paper during their senior year of high school and later became class president. He was that one guy in the school who had both brains and humor, creating the perfect man for Tamera.

But as humorous of a character as Jordan was, he did show signs of sexism and could be selfish. In one episode, Jordan refused to be a server for Tamera’s aunt because that wasn’t something a “manly man” did. He also got in a fight with Tamera about women being too “emotional.” Jordan was a great man but his childish personality puts him high up on this list.

5 Roger Evans

Sister, Sister wasn’t the longest-running sitcoms in TV history but fans hoped it would be thanks to the relationship between Tia, Tamera, and Roger.

Roger Evans was Tia and Tamera’s annoying kid neighbor. He had a serious crush on Tamera but after finding out she was a twin his crush grew. Roger eventually grew up from an annoying kid to a handsome young man who protected the twins but Roger wasn’t free of faults. As great of a man as Roger turned out to be, he was written to be annoying on purpose. He’s like a gnat that doesn’t know when to leave until someone yells “Go home, Roger!”

4 Tyreke Scott

Tyreke Scott begins dating Tia in the fifth season after meeting in the bookstore. Off the bat, Tyreke is soft-natured and well-spoken. He had a dark past but was on the path to better his future, which made him a crowd-favorite with fans. He and Tia seemed like the perfect couple, especially when he followed her to the University of Michigan.

While Jordan and Tamera were a lovely couple, the fought far more than Tia and Tyreke. Sadly, these two did go on a small break in the sixth season but their love fought through.

3 Ray Campbell

Ray Campbell is one of the best dads in TV history. After his wife passed away, he was left to raise Tamera by himself until they stumbled upon Tia and Lisa. Ray owned a successful transportation company as a limo driver, which created a fancy lifestyle for the family. He was the complete opposite of his daughter Tamera and ironically had more in common with Tamer’s twin sister, Tia. Ray was a classic over-protective father but he would adorably do anything for his girls.

2 Tia Landry & Tamera Campbell

It’s impossible to say one sister is better than the other! As twin sisters, Tia and Tamera’s different personalities made the show as successful as it was. Tia was the smart, overachiever with the outspoken mother. And Tamera was the vibrant and sassy sister with the over-protective, classy father. Together, they both offered something that the other lacked. They made viewers envious of their twin connection and the actresses who played them (the Mowry twins) became overnight successes.

Tia and Tamera learned from each other throughout the series and had a lot of catching up to do after being separated at birth. But as amazing as Tia and Tamera were (it was their show, after all), there’s one character who outshone them all…

1 Lisa Landry

Although Sister, Sister revolves around Tia and Tamera, fans were head over heels in love with Tia’s mom, Lisa Landry. Lisa was an independent fashion designer who had a healthy appetite and loved playing the field. She was more similar to Tamera but was always proud of her baby Tia.

Lisa added a ton of comedy to the show, especially when she brought up her love of food and elegance. She’s also one of the characters who had the most growth. She finally became the fashion designer she always wanted to be and found love by the sixth season without losing who she was. She was an excellent role model on TV and remains one of the best characters in ’90s sitcom history.
