Meri Brown had big dreams of opening her own bed and breakfast on season 12 of Sister Wives, and she has since turned those dreams into a reality. Initially, she wanted to buy her grandmother’s home and turn it into a B&B. Kody claimed he couldn’t afford to give Meri the $40,000 she asked for, but that didn’t stop Meri. She paid the full $80,000 herself and has been running Lizzie’s Heritage Inn ever since. Here’s what we know about Meri’s bed and breakfast that she says is her “baby.

As viewers saw in season 12 of Sister Wives, Meri was forced to finance the bed and breakfast on her own. When Meri first told Kody and her three sister wives that she wanted to purchase the home, reactions varied. Christine was immediately on board, confessing that she’d always wanted to open a B&B herself. Jenelle was confused at the idea, especially given its location in Parowan, Utah, which is three hours away from their home in Flagstaff, Arizona. Once Jenelle learned that it was Meri’s grandmother’s home, she understood and supported Meri. Robyn needed to see a business plan before voicing her approval, which she claimed was standard practice when any of the sister wives wanted to start a business. Lastly, Kody claimed to be on board, only to later take back his promise to help pay for the home, saying he didn’t have the money.

Meri used her own money from her LulaRoe clothing line to purchase the home. It was built in 187o by her great-great-grandparents. It was a sort of gathering place for members of the small town of Parowan, which is halfway between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. Meri refurbished the whole home to make it into a profitable bed and breakfast. It offers four bedrooms, each with a private bath. It has a large front and backyard with plenty of outdoor dining areas. The interior is filled with antique furniture and family heirlooms that fit the time period of the 1870s that the house honors. Meri’s mother Bonnie was the in-person host of the B&B for many years until she passed away last month. Now that Bonnie has passed away, Meri may have to take over more responsibilities at Lizzie’s Heritage Inn.

Lizzie’s Heritage Inn has great reviews from guests, and it has been awarded “Best Country Inn” in Utah by the Official Best of America Awards for three years in a row. The Inn offers free breakfast to all of its guests which reviewers on Travelocity have called delicious. During COVID-19 Meri briefly closed the B&B to protect guests and staff, but it’s now up and running again. Prices range from $155 to $125 a night depending on your room choice. The bed and breakfast also sells merchandise that includes artwork, jam, and mugs. As Kody pointed out on Sister Wives, it is located in a small, lesser-known town, but for many guests, that’s part of its appeal. According to Lizzie’s Heritage Inn’s website, Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park are both an hour drive from the B&B.

After Kody Brown expressed such doubt in the profitability of Meri’s plan, Meri has proved that her dream of running a bed and breakfast was meant to be. Meri was sure to make it very clear to Kody and her sister wives that they would not have input on how she ran Lizzie’s Heritage Inn. Its success must be attributed to Meri alone, and as things remain tense between her and Kody, she must be happy to have something that is just hers.
