Sister Wives star Mariah Brown’s partner, Audrey Kriss, shared some personal news with followers as they revealed they identify as transgender. Mariah is the only child of Meri and Kody Brown. The couple has been featured on the TLC show; as fans will recall, Mariah came out while cameras were filming.

As the only child of Meri, Mariah has had a lot to live up to. The social justice advocate now works in education but still challenges her family’s traditions. Fans watched as Mariah bravely opened up to her parents when she came out as gay. At first, Meri and Kody struggled to accept their only daughter’s lifestyle due to their conservative religious beliefs. But eventually, Mariah was embraced with open arms. Soon after leaving home, Mariah met Audrey, and the two bonded quickly. With an eventual wedding down the line, the couple is now sharing a very special update.

In a new statement released by Audrey, the Sister Wives star revealed that in order to live as their authentic self, they wanted to reveal that they are transgender. They also informed their followers that they use “they/them” pronouns. In the statement, Audrey shared that they didn’t want to hide themself anymore from the world, writing they were excited, to be honest. They continued, “I am also scared. I am scared of the hate I’ll receive, the things people I care about will say about me, and violence.” Audrey noted that while there’s a lot of privilege that comes with being a white, masculine-presenting person, they are still scared. The Sister Wives star also revealed that their name is still Audrey. The Sister Wives personality shared that they felt like themself for the first time in a very long time. Mariah and Audrey have been engaged since 2019 after she proposed at the Women’s March in Washington, D.C. As fans will recall, the couple met while attending Westminster College. Audrey has had a lot of positive reactions, including a comment from Meri, who wrote, “I freaking love you!

Up until now, Audrey had been quiet on social media as her last post was from July when she posted a tribute to Mariah on her birthday. The couple has since moved back to Salt Lake City, Utah, in order to be closer to their family. Sister Wives fans should not expect to see Audrey and Mariah share this part of their story on the show since both are very private when it comes to their personal lives.
