Sister Wives star Kody Brown can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to sharing his opinions on national TV, especially after his odd comparison between COVID-19 and pregnancy. Even though Kody doesn’t like to tell his wives what to do, he sure had a lot to say when it came to implementing strict rules regarding their lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. The multiple what-ifs of the pandemic caused Kody to live in fear and often speak out on what he didn’t really know.

The entire Brown family moved from their cul-de-sac in Las Vegas to Flagstaff, Arizona in 2018 with the hopes of living off their land, Coyote Pass. However, as Sister Wives viewers have seen, the plan didn’t go exactly as they thought. None of the wives live on the land or in their own houses, as no one has broken any ground. Through it all, Kody has become moody and distant while his wives became used to living apart. With the surge of COVID-19, Kody essentially went into his own lockdown in hopes of protecting his family. In the end, however, it only alienated his wives, kids, and fans.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Fans were a bit taken aback as the first part of the Sister Wives Tell-All special aired – mainly due to Kody’s awkward analogy when it came to handling the worldwide pandemic. In a blanket statement, the father of 18 said, “If you don’t want to get pregnant, just don’t have s*x” as a comparison regarding how to stay safe from COVID-19. Kody admitted that his statement may have been a crass analogy, but he stuck to his guns, noting that if you didn’t want to catch the virus, then you shouldn’t be putting yourself in situations that are dangerous.

Fans could see that Kody was legitimately scared of getting sick and infecting others, noting that his fourth wife, Robyn, was the first wife to follow his rules. Kody also didn’t mince his words, tattling that Christine had no desire to follow any of the rules. As the months went on, Kody became more resolved to keep everyone alive even at the cost of his marriage. Kody was not apologetic about wanting to keep strict rules in the household all in the name of keeping his young children safe and alive from COVID-19. He argued that the protocols may have been harsh for some but were needed for all.

Along with the comparison, fans learned a lot more about the couple’s plural marriage. While Kody had hoped that no one in his family would ever suffer from true loneliness, it was evident that these rules alienated most of his family members. Even though the comparison may have rubbed viewers the wrong way, one could understand how fear drove the patriarch to such extremes. Sister Wives tell-all part 2 will undoubtedly also have more revelations regarding the current state of this family.
