There are several interesting guild factions to join in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, including the criminal organization known as the Thieves Guild. Players must go out of their way to discover and get accepted into the Thieves Guild. However, joining the Thieves Guild is worth it due to the perks and content players receive in return. Joining the Thieves Guild in Skyrim opens new questlines, gives players more opportunities for rewards, and gives access to the Thieves Guild headquarters under the streets of Riften.

To begin the process of joining the Thieves Guild, players must find a man named Brynjolf in Riften. Brynjolf can be found at the market in the middle of Riften during the day, and in the Bee and Barb tavern at night. Brynjolf will approach players and ask about their wealth before requesting their help in a scheme. Players then begin a quest called “A Chance Arrangement,” which involves players stealing a ring and planting it on someone else in Riften. Players do not have to successfully plant the ring to move on to the next quest. Brynjolf will give players the second quest regardless of the first quest’s outcome.

After completing the first quest, successfully or unsuccessfully, players must head down to the Riften canals and reach the Ratway. Along the Ratway, players will encounter aggressive bandits and will eventually find useful loot, like Dravin’s Bow. They should defeat the bandits and follow the canals until they reach the Ragged Flagon, the headquarters of the Thieves Guild. Players must talk to Brynjolf again to receive the last quest in the Thieves Guild questline, “Taking Care of Business.”

Once players have brawled with the debtors or gotten the gold another way, they must return to Brynjolf in the Ragged Flagon. Completing this quest allows players to join to Thieves Guild.

Players get various perks and opportunities after joining the Thieves Guild. Players have unlimited access to the Thieves Guild headquarters, a set of Thieves Guild Armor, and multiple new side quests to complete. Thieves Guild side quests reward players with items such as unique sets of armor, rare swords, gold, and progression in the Disarm shout learning process.
