Skyrim players who feel like a sword is just too mainstream now have a less conventional option: The Chair. This mod allows the mighty Dragonborn to wield a wooden chair as a two-handed weapon, and the sight of the game’s protagonist waltzing into town with a piece of furniture strapped to their back may not seem intimidating, but if the townsfolk know any better they’ll be scurrying into their homes to hide.

For almost nine years players have been adding mods to Skyrim, making it their own world with their own weapons, but few of these weapons have been as plainspoken and proficient as the chair. Not only is it unassuming in almost every way, it’s a pretty sturdy chair despite being built in a pre-medieval fantasy setting.

Even though Skyrim is a world of high fantasy tropes, PC Gamer reports that no magic is used in the making of this chair, and it isn’t made from any materials or artifacts hidden deep in the mountains or locked in a dungeon either. Any player can craft it with just three leather strips. The mod was made by XvomTheMad, and there are two versions available for download. One allows the player to deal 20 damage with their solidly crafted seat, and the other allows players to deal 737 damage. In both versions, the chair is crafted in the same simple way, so it’s up to the player to decide on the power of their chair.

Either way, carrying a chair around gives off the message that this player is not to be messed with, as they have grown past the need for even the most astounding weapons that Skyrim has to offer. Put anything into this player’s hands and they can beat any enemy that crosses their path. Players with this chair look like they heard there was a dragon nearby and grabbed the first thing they could lay their hands on, ready to take on one of the huge beasts with a typical household object. It’s also quite a big chair that the character holds, which makes players look even more impressive grasping it in their two hands.

If wrestling has taught gamers anything, it’s that chairs are a champion’s weapon, so having a ridiculously overpowered one to wield in Skyrim actually makes some sense if players want to try channeling Hulk Hogan for a while. This mod is a fun one that both old and new players can enjoy if they want to try a unique weapon and walk around with some furniture on their back for a while.
