One modder has added Master Chief from Halo to Super Smash Bros Ultimate as a brand-new Mii costume, helping one of the most requested newcomers for the fight title to be realized in a meaningful fashion. There have been a number of characters that have gained the support of fans since Smash Ultimate first released in December 2018 and many have been realized after years of fan demand. Of course, there have been plenty of surprises too, showing that Nintendo is still able to usurp fan expectations time and time again with meaningful additions from outside of the game’s ever-present speculation scene.

Of course, one of the biggest requests for inclusions so far has been Halo‘s Master Chief. Most interestingly, the ask isn’t exactly impossible either, with two of the most-requested and eventually-added newcomers (Banjo-Kazooie and Minecraft‘s Steve) also being owned by rival console manufacturer Microsoft. In that light, it feels like Spartan-117 is the only Xbox Game Studios hero required to give Microsoft a full range of representation in Smash Bros Ultimate, but many gamers still remain uncertain about what awaits them in the game’s ongoing Fighters Pass Vol. 2.

Fortunately, those curious to see how Master Chief’s iconic armor may look if he were to ever join the Smash Ultimate roster can do so. That’s thanks entirely to a new mod created by YouTuber Aaronitmar, who took the liberty of sharing his work on Twitter. The mod is actually available now through the modding site Gamebanana, so those with hacked Switch consoles can access the Mii outfit. Of course, those that simply want to take in the cool design can do so as well.

There’s currently no telling who or what may show up as a playable character in Smash Bros Ultimate next, but it’s always fun to consider possibilities of who may join the fray. Most recently, Final Fantasy 7 villain Sephiroth was added as a guest combatant to the game – shocking fans in the process. In that light, while Master Chief once seemed impossible, the stars could very well be aligning for the face of Xbox to join Nintendo’s all-star-laden fight title.

With past rumors indicating that Xbox Game Pass is coming to Nintendo Switch, as well as official Xbox social accounts saying that Master Chief was waiting to be invited to Smash Ultimate, only time will tell. For now, fans are welcome to continue speculating.
