The latest mini Nintendo Direct has revealed that Kazuya from Tekken will be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on April 29th. Kazuya was revealed during E3 2021, in a trailer that showed him dispatching many of the fighters in the game and dropping them into a volcano.

Masahiro Sakurai showed off Kazuya’s combat prowess in the latest mini Direct for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which can be found on the official Nintendo YouTube channel. Sakurai revealed that Kazuya will be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on June 29, 2021.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Kazuya’s fighting style is a combination of Ryu/Ken and Lucario. He possesses a wide range of melee/ranged attacks, some of which are tied to input commands, like the ones used in the Tekken series. Kazuya also has the Rage mechanic which activates once he hits 100% damage/25% health in Stamina mode. Rage drastically increases Kazuya’s damage, giving him a red aura and causing his name to flash on the bottom of the screen. It’s possible for Kazuya to lose his Rage effect after taking more damage, or by missing with one of his special attacks. Kazuya can tap into the power of the Devil Gene, allowing him to blast enemies from afar with infernal beams of energy, or growing wings that can be used in his recovery move.

The people who have purchased the second Fighters Pass for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be able to download Kazuya as soon as he’s available. Fans can also purchase him separately on the Nintendo eShop, assuming they don’t want to purchase the second Fighters Pass. Kazuya is the penultimate DLC fighter to come to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed that there won’t be any more Fighters Passes coming in the future. The response to the DLC fighters released for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been a mixed bag, and the eyes of the gaming world will be on Sakurai and his team, as they attempt to end their run on the game with a bang.

Kazuya from Tekken will join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on June 29, 2021.
