Snowpiercer Season 2 New Cast & Returning Character Guide

A new train joins Snowpiercerin season 2 and it brings new characters to TNT’s post-apocalyptic sci-fi series. Snowpiercer season 1 ended with a cliffhanger where the 3000 passengers of the Great Ark Train, 994-cars-long, discovered a second train exists that’s controlled by Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean).

Snowpiercer had just survived a revolution by the Tail and Third Class sections, followed by a coup attempt by wealthy passengers from First Class. Only by putting aside their differences and working together did Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) and Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) save Snowpiercer. In turn, Melanie ceded control of the train to Layton, who ended its cruel, class-based societal structure, which created chaos. However, immediately after the new order was established, Big Alice, the second train controlled by Mr. Wilford, who was presumed dead, appeared and docked with Snowpiercer. Also aboard Big Alice is Alexandra Cavill (Rowan Blanchard), Melanie’s lost daughter, who is now a teenager.

In Snowpiercer season 2, a new power struggle emerges between Layton and Mr. Wilford, with the passengers of both trains forced to choose sides. In addition, Melanie makes a discovery that could alter the course of what’s left of the human race. Here’s who’s who and what new faces are coming aboard Snowpiercer season 2.

Snowpiercer Season 2’s Returning Cast & Characters

Jennifer Connelly as Melanie Cavill – No longer in control of Snowpiercer, Melanie dreads facing the sins of her past: Mr. Wilford, who she left to die, and her daughter Alex, who she left behind 7 years ago. Connelly starred in Requiem for a Dream, Alita: Battle Angel, and she will next be seen in Top Gun: Maverick.

Daveed Diggs as Andre Layton – The former Train Detective, Layton led the Tail’s revolution and took over control of Snowpiercer from Melanie, only to have his burgeoning new government threatened by the arrival of Mr. Wilford. Diggs starred in Hamilton, Velvet Buzzsaw, and Soul.

Mickey Sumner as Bess Till – The driven and tormented Bess’s loyalties fell to the Tail and Third Class and she broke from the Brakemen to join their revolution, which cost her her relationship with Jinju. Sumner is a British actress who appeared in Frances Ha and Marriage Story.

Alison Wright as Ruth Wardell – Now the Head of Hospitality, Ruth feels betrayed by Melanie. Initially thrilled by Mr. Wilford’s return, Ruth begins to wonder whether Layton or Wilford is really the best thing for the train. Wright is best known for her starring role in The Americans.

Lena Hall as Miss Audrey – Miss Audrey is the cunning chanteuse who controls the Night Car who knows the darkest secrets of the train. It remains to be seen where her loyalties lie now that Mr. Wilford is back. Hall is a Tony Award-winner who appeared in Girls.

Iddo Goldberg as Bennett Knox – Bennett is one of Snowpiercer’s original designers and is fiercely loyal to Melanie, whom he has romantic feelings towards. Goldberg is an Israeli-British actor who appeared in Supergirl and Westworld.

Roberto Urbina as Javier de la Torre – Javi is one of Snowpiercer’s enginners but he often questions the morality of Melanie’s decisions. Urbina is best known for appearing in Che and Narcos.

Sam Otto as John Osweiller – Oz is a former Brakeman who is now surviving in Third Class and found himself allied with L.J. Folger. Otto is a British actor who has starred in The Flood and Collateral.

Sheila Vand as Zarah Ferami – Zarah is Layton’s ex-wife who is carrying his child and is trying to build a new life and a second chance with Andre. Vand is an Iranian-American actress who starred in Argo and Triple Frontier.

Mike O’Malley as Roche – Roche is the chief of the Brakemen who tried to maintain the train’s order but ended up respecting and allying with Layton. O’Malley has appeared in Parks and Recreation and My Name Is Earl.

Annalise Basso as L.J. Folger – L.J. is one of the most hated former First Class train passengers who is now orphaned and sentenced to surviving in Third Class. Basso appeared in Constantine and Slender Man.

Steven Ogg as Pike – Pike is a renegade from the Tail Section who is out for whatever he can get and has shifting loyalties. Ogg is best known for The Walking Dead, Westworld, and for being the model for and voice of Trevor in Grand Theft Auto V.

Aleks Paunovic as Bojan Boscovic – The leader of Snowpiercer’s Breachers, his loyalty to Mr. Wilford becomes a problem for Layton and his fragile democracy. Paunovic appeared in War for the Planet of the Apes.

Jaylin Fletcher as Miles – Miles is a brilliant orphan who Layton is raising but Melanie made one of the train’s engineers. Fletcher appeared in Clickbait and Coop and Cami Ask The World.

Karin Konoval as Dr. Pelton – Snowpiercer’s physician lives in Second Class and finds herself caught up in the politics and machinations aboard the train. Konoval appeared in The Good Doctor and Big Sky.

Snowpiercer Season 2’s New Cast & Characters

Sean Bean as Mr. Wilford – Eccentric billionaire, genius, and villain, Mr. Wilford is the powerful Messiah-figure of Snowpiercer who also controls a second train, Big Alice. With his new technology and a master plan, Wilford is a threat to Layton,  Melanie, and possibly, humanity. Bean is a legendary actor best known for GoldenEye, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, and Game of Thrones.

Rowan Blanchard as Alexandra Cavill – Alex is Melanie’s daughter who was mistakenly left behind when Snowpiercer left Chicago seven years ago. Alex was saved by Mr. Wilford and now works for him, with a mysterious agenda for her mother. Blanchard is best known for starring in Girl Meets World.

Tom Lipinski as Kevin McMann – Kevin runs Hospitality on Big Alice and his loyalty to Mr. Wilford knows no bounds. Lipinski appeared in Suits and Billions.

Damian Young as Mr. Headwood – One half of a creepy husband-wife duo, Mr. Headwood is a mad scientist aboard Big Alice working on illicit experiments regarding the Freeze. Young appeared in Birdman and Ozark.

Sakina Jaffrey as Mrs. Headwood – Mrs. Headwood works alongside her husband aboard Big Alice and often debates with him about Mr. Wilford’s agenda as they work on secret experiments on his behalf. Jaffrey appeared in House of Cards and Defending Jacob.

Chelsea Harris as Sykes – Mr. Wilford’s head of security aboard Big Alice, Sykes keeps his secrets and isn’t someone to be crossed. Harris appeared in Designated Survivor and she will next be seen in Top Gun: Maverick.

Andre Tricoteux as Icy Bob – A hulking brute aboard Big Alice, Icy Bob is Mr. Wilford’s greatest and most fearsome weapon. Tricoteux played Colossus in Deadpool and has appeared in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
