Wow, that’s a lot of damage. While violence isn’t exactly a new theme used in television, there have only been a few shows throughout its history that were bloodier or deadlier than Sons of Anarchy, a drama-thriller surrounding a biker-gang set in the fictional town of Charmin, California

The two-wheeled demons caused endless mayhem and havoc during the seven seasons that they were on the air, with the total number of deaths on the show tallying over 170. Nobody killed better than the biker-gang from Southern California, so let’s take a look at the top 10 characters with the highest kill counts in Sons of Anarchy.

10 Gemma Teller (countless)

We put this particular character first for a couple of different reasons. The first – she wasn’t an official member of the Sons of Anarchy biker-gang so her kill count isn’t quite the same as the others. The second – she might not have literally pulled the trigger, but she was responsible for countless deaths because of the web of lies that she strung throughout the series.

Ergo, her kill count is hard to pin down since dozens and dozens of people died simply because Gemma couldn’t shake her Oedipus-complex, but that doesn’t negate that she was responsible for a lot of spilled blood throughout the show.

9 Otto Delaney (4)

If you created a television show about a group of sadistic, gun-running bikers, wouldn’t you want to cast yourself as the craziest member of that biker-gang? That was Kurt Sutter’s logic since he played the part of Otto Delaney, an older member of the Sons of Anarchy gang who was sentenced to life in prison after carrying out several murders inside said prison for the gang.

It makes perfect sense why Sutter would want to play the part of the biker-turned-inmate because Otto’s character arc perfectly encapsulated how the life of a Son would kill you no matter what.

8 Bobby Munson (5)

Bobby was arguably the most humane out of all the characters on Sons of Anarchy, and that’s a genuine accomplishment. Other than the fact that he was a total bad-ass, Bobby never really seemed to fit the mold of the rest of the Sons since he was the only one who thought with his brain instead of his pistol.

Despite his managed temper, Bobby did still end up killing at least five people throughout the series, but most of those kills were unnamed associates to all of the bigger villains and never done out of malicious intent or revenge like a lot of the other members did.

7 Juice Ortiz (7)

Once a rat, always a rat. Juice was the original scumbag of the Sons of Anarchy biker-gang since he gave up his entire brotherhood all because it was revealed that he was actually half-black instead of Puerto-Rican.

He had been on the show since the very beginning and only had one kill to an unnamed Russian associate before he betrayed the group in season 4 and ended up murdering one of its members to save himself from being found out. His character became depressed and stoic after the occurrence and audiences were meant to feel bad for the man whose life fell apart after being framed – but we didn’t.

6 Clay Morrow (13)

This one was a huge surprise as Clay Morrow was a trigger-happy antagonist for the majority of the show (despite being the president of the club and a member of The First 9).

Only killing thirteen people is an impressive feat for a man who spent his time on the series back-stabbing as many people as he possibly could all because he was afraid of losing his gavel. Also, consider this – Clay Morrow was a member of The First 9 and his only notable kills were three other members of The First 9 (John Teller, Keith McGee, Piney Winston). Pretty messed up.

5 Opie Winston (16)

There were a lot of tragedies on Sons of Anarchy, but Opie Winston’s story-arc may have been the saddest of all of them (and that’s saying something).

Starting in the first season, Opie returned from a several-year-long stint in prison, was labeled a rat, and had his wife murdered on accident by one of the very members on this list. After that, Opie lost all touch with reality and had next-to-no problem with pulling the trigger on anybody. His only true notable kill was when he got revenge on Agent Stahl, but he tore through the countless unnamed assailants for other major antagonists of the show.

4 Chibs Telford (21)

Chibs being so high on this list isn’t a surprise since he was never one to shy away from pulling his trigger whenever the situation dictated it.

However, a fun-fact that might surprise most fans of the show is that Chibs didn’t have a single kill until the final episode of season 3. That kill happened to be a large one as he murdered Jimmy O’Phelan, the boss and face of the True IRA, but the kill was also personal as Jimmy had stolen Chibs wife and daughter away from him when he still lived in Ireland. After that, Chibs racked up almost two dozen kills of unnamed assailants and had no problem doing so.

3 Happy Lawman (23)

Don’t mess with Happy. The wild-card character that ended up being Jax Teller’s number three man by the end of the show was arguably the most sadistic out of every SAMCRO member. The trigger-happy man got his nickname because every time he killed somebody, he would then get a tiny smiley-face tattooed on his rib-cage.

Also, a pretty messed up part of his killing statistics is that he doesn’t have a single notable kill and he still ranks in the top three on this list – if there was unnamed assailant that needed killing, Happy was the man to do it.

2 Tig Trager (26)

Tig might not have been as crazy as Happy, but that didn’t stop him from pulling the trigger even more times as the second leading killer on the entire series. Tig wasn’t sadistic, he was just blindingly loyal to his biker-gang and would do anything to anybody if they tried threatening it. The only problem with that mentality is that Tig didn’t often think before he started gunning people down which resulted in a lot of messes that needed cleaning up.

Two of his most notable kills were accidents (Donna Winston and Veronica Pope) but his biggest one was when he got revenge on Damon Pope and that one was pretty satisfactory.

1 Jax Teller (43)

For a guy who wanted to get out of SAMCRO before he became a killer, he sure killed an awful lot of people doing it. Jax was supposed to be the breaker-of-the-chain when he divulged to his mother in the very first season that he didn’t want a biker’s life for his soon-to-be-born son. Gemma started stringing her little web and made sure Jax couldn’t get loose and ended up turning her son into the most vicious, cold-blooded killer on the entire show.

He has so many notable kills on his resume (Clay, Unser, Gemma, etc) that we couldn’t fit them all in this list, but rest assured that he blows everybody else out of the water.
