Craig Conover is being very unfiltered in his new tell-all book and revealing the Adderall addiction he had while filming the early seasons of Southern Charm. Craig is living a happier and healthier life after years of having his wild boy behavior put on blast on Bravo. Now that Paige DeSorbo is in his life and he has published a book, Craig is stepping into adulthood with a clearer perspective. Alas, he can still remember the days when he couldn’t get through filming without taking medication.

Craig and Austen Kroll made a name for themselves as the “bad boys” of the show. Overall, their “party hard, think later” lifestyle helped make Southern Charm a hit for Bravo. Their relationship make-ups and break-ups and party-filled nights helped make stars out of some cast members, with Craig included. After adding hit shows like Summer House and Winter House to his resume, Craig has been solidifying his career in the reality TV genre.

As part of Craig’s ongoing journey, he’s released a tell-all book where he opened up about his past Adderall addiction. “In those early seasons, I often blamed my internal demons on the outside pressures I was facing,” Craig wrote in his new book titled Pillow Talk: What’s Wrong With My Sewing?. Craig credited the stress of work and appearing on TV to his excessive partying lifestyle. “The need to finish my work caused me to take Adderall,” Craig wrote. “The anxiety of needing to ‘be on’ when I went out to the bars caused me to take more Adderall.” It was in the early seasons of Summer House that Craig picked up the bad habit. Craig’s addiction got so bad that, by the time season 3 wrapped, he was taking three 15 mg pills per day.

Then, ahead of Summer House season 5, Craig’s breakup with Naomi Olindo caused him to take “more Adderall than ever” in an effort “to numb [his] own sadness.” Craig has since admitted to being depressed at the time without even realizing it. “I’d take Adderall as like a quick, happy pill, but I just didn’t know that I was adding to my depression,” Craig confessed. It was during a trip to the Bahamas between seasons 5 and 6 that Craig realized how his Adderall addiction had gotten out of control. At one point, Craig was having fun spearfishing but couldn’t hold his breath for longer than a few seconds due to all the Adderall he had taken that morning.

By the time filming for season 6 came around, Craig relapsed because he “simply didn’t know how to film without being on Adderall,” he wrote in the book. After wrapping season 6, Craig made the “conscious decision to quit the stuff for good” and founded his sewing company, Sewing Down South. In addition to his company, Craig and Paige are happily in love. Now, the Southern Charm star is teasing his future plans with his girlfriend and sparking rumors that he might be proposing soon. Craig also already is thinking about where his kids will be raised. With such a rocky past, Craig is ready to settle down and be the family man he knows he can be.
