Leva Bonaparte is one of the new main cast members of Southern Charm. But while this is her first season as part of the main cast, she has actually been on the show since the beginning. She was a friend and bridesmaid for Cameran Eubanks. When Eubanks decided to leave the show after six seasons, Bonaparte stepped up and went from a small role to part of the main cast. This brings more attention to her and also comes with a bigger paycheck, not that she necessarily needs it.

Very few of the cast members have stayed on the show for more than a few seasons. The season 7 cast barely resembles the season 1 cast. Even though main cast members get paid a significant amount per episode, most cast members don’t seem to want to stick around long. Besides the constant need for drama to keep the show going, this show has been proven to be one of the reality shows with very little reality involved. Season 1 cast member Jenna King left the show and it was later revealed that she was not rich, which the show had presented her to be, even putting her up in a fancy home and claiming it was hers.

Leva Bonaparte does appear to actually be rich. According to Bravo, her family runs a multi-national business, though there doesn’t seem to be any word on what that business is. She and her husband Lamar Bonaparte have their hand in many business ventures, from restaurants to nightclubs to car dealerships. Many of their businesses are based in Charleston, South Carolina, where the show is filmed. The couple owns and runs Republic Development and Management Group, which hosts events and private parties at their restaurants and bars.

While COVID hit many bars, restaurants, and nightclubs hard, their business ventures seem to still be doing alright. If nothing else, they have the $25,000 per season that Southern Charm apparently pays its cast members. On top of that, the Bonapartes have an estimated net worth of 3 million dollars, making Leva one of the richest cast members, only behind Shep Rose, Thomas Ravenel, and Patricia Altschul. Being on the show has also seemed to help the businesses of other cast members, so she may find herself even more wealthier.

Past cast members do not have many good things to say about Southern Charm. Producers seem to be more interested in drama and narrative than truth and cast members’ well-being. No wonder the show offers stars such a big paycheck, and yet few of them stick around for long. Leva Bonaparte knows what she’s getting into, having played a small part on previous seasons of the show. Hopefully she can manage to do her stint on the show while avoiding any of the frequent controversies that plague the cast. At least she will always have her many businesses to fall back on.
