The release of Space Jam: A New Legacy has been met with praise, with viewers appreciating the family-friendly humor and LeBron James’ performance. The story saw the basketball player assemble Looney Tunes cartoons to go up against the villainous Al-G Rhythm, and the mixture of different personalities made for an interesting team.

A great way to analyze characters is according to the personality traits found in Harry Potter’s Hogwarts houses. With many of the Looney Tunes characters showing they can be brave, ambitious, and intelligent, it’s easy to see which houses they will be sorted into.

10 The Goon Squad: Slytherin

These Space Jam 2 villains proved to be extremely powerful, with the team using their skills to try and defeat the heroes. Just like the Slytherin Quidditch team, the villains worked together using underhanded tactics and were boastful about their winning moments.

As it is with the Slytherin mentality, they were in it for the glory while not caring about the dilemma for the heroes. They also showed arrogance in the plays they made, humiliating the other team because they wanted to show off their talents.

9 Al-G Rhythm: Slytherin

Slytherins have a notable trait of vanity, and Al-G is a textbook example. He not only wanted recognition for simply doing his job but also desired to be treated like a king. Moreover, Al-G judged LeBron for his fame and overlooked that he was a humble man who didn’t care about social status.

Slytherins are also known to go overboard with their intentions. Al-G’s motives of being appreciated ultimately went off the rails and he ended up wanting to delete everyone without considering their lives.

8 Bugs Bunny: Slytherin

The main character of Looney Tunes is certainly self-centered and self-preserving like a Slytherin, having used LeBron James as an excuse to get everyone back into Tune World. Still, he also displayed several positive Slytherin traits, such as loyalty and resourcefulness.

Bugs ultimately acknowledged his earlier selfishness and sought to make amends by sacrificing himself to save the game, but returned at the end using a technicality. This was the kind of smart thinking Slytherins would appreciate, with Bugs also using his favor to LeBron in the conclusion as a way to stay in the real world while mooching off the latter.

7 Lola Bunny: Gryffindor

There’s little doubt that Lola was one of the best characters in Space Jam 2, mainly due to being the only truly competent member of LeBron James’ team. She was brave throughout the story and had a strict sense of justice, which are traits mainly associated with Gryffindor.

Lola also had the failings of a Gryffindor, in that she could be too fixed on her goals to see the big picture, as seen when she initially ignored James and Bugs’ pleas for help to win the Amazonian challenge. However, she was overall determined and naturally gifted as most Gryffindors are, along with never showing fear despite the chances of deletion.

6 Kamiyah James: Ravenclaw

Although she has a smaller role compared to others, Kamiyah has many of the best quotes in Space Jam 2 due to her wise personality. Ravenclaws are known to think out of the box and be perceptive, reading people better than most.

Kamiya displayed this when she saw that Dom didn’t want to pursue basketball while LeBron pushed him to. She was also smart enough to realize when her husband and son were in trouble even when Malik tried to fool her into thinking nothing was wrong.

5 Dominic James: Gryffindor

Dom was similar to Neville Longbottom and Ron Weasley, in that he had innate talent but was denied from exploring this due to family pressure. He was, overall, a brave kid, as he instantly stood up to Al-G when he realized the A.I. had manipulated him.

The loyalty and nerve of a Gryffindor were shown in Dom when he abandoned his own team to join his father’s, as he didn’t care about winning if he had to go against LeBron. In the end, he continued to carry these traits by being brave enough to give his passion a shot but retaining his loyalty to LeBron by promising to keep playing basketball as well.

4 Malik: Hufflepuff

Shown as a bumbling sidekick, for the most part, Malik still didn’t abandon his hope of finding LeBron and Dom after their disappearance. This associates him with Hufflepuff, whose traits are mainly loyalty, friendship, and patience.

Malik never wanted to mooch off LeBron’s fame, nor did he push for his friend to take the Warner Bros. deal even though it would have benefited him. Despite clearly being scared of entering Al-G’s server room, Malik didn’t flee when he saw LeBron and his family disappear, proving the strength of his friendship attribute.

3 Daffy Duck: Slytherin

Quite a lot of Slytherins are loud, obnoxious, and want to steal credit, but are still good people. Daffy falls under this, as he sought to be revered as a hero in the DC Universe, yet fled when he realized he’d been exposed.

That didn’t stop him from staying true to his friends, though, as Daffy remained by their side. As a Slytherin would, Daffy took the easy spot of the team’s coach so as to protect himself, but was also cunning enough to come up with tactics that would benefit the protagonists.

2 Darius James: Gryffindor

The elder son of LeBron James was shown as a typical Gryffindor, having full confidence in his abilities, being a natural talent, and knowing the importance of family. He was also a comedic character along the lines of Fred and George Weasley.

Gryffindors tend to stick with the thing they’re most comfortable with, and Darius was easily at home with wanting to pursue basketball. He also looked out for his brother, as he looked to cheer him up when LeBron pushed Dom into being like Darius.

1 LeBron James: Hufflepuff

Funnily enough, Space Jam: A New Legacy went out of its way to sort LeBron James into a Hogwarts house by itself. As seen in the movie, he visited the Harry Potter world and was sorted into Hufflepuff, and the story gave enough evidence to back it up.

Despite his extreme talent and fame, LeBron didn’t let it get into his head and placed his family first. He was similar to Cedric Diggory, in that he was admired by everyone but didn’t see himself as too big a deal. LeBron was also loyal to everyone involved, even to those he just met. The biggest Hufflepuff attribute he displayed was hard work, as LeBron continued to speak of its importance through the story.
