A talented cosplayer has amassed a large collection of Spider-Gwen’s various heroic costumes, showing off the variety inherent to Earth-65’s Gwen Stacy and the multiple roles she has taken on since her debut in 2014. Gwen Stacy is famous for brutally dying at the hands of the Green Goblin in Earth-616s continuity, crushing the spirit of Peter Parker for a long time, and while it seems as though 616’s Gwen may be returning for the ongoing Judgment Day event, the debut of Spider-Gwen was a brilliant way to bring Stacy back into Marvel Comics without undoing this pivotal story.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Spider-Gwen, otherwise known as Spider-Woman, Gwen Stacy, or Ghost-Spider, was introduced as part of the first Edge of Spider-Verse event back in 2014, and quickly became one of the most beloved new Spider-characters introduced into the Marvel Multiverse. Since then Spider-Gwen has emerged as a powerful ally to both Earth-65 and Eath-616’s heroes, traveling back and forth between the two realities as she deals with her own versions of classic Spider-Man enemies such as Venom, Carnage, and the Jackal.

Cosplay artist Kate, also known as Stacy Cosplays, has worked several times with the Spider-Man costume creator Web Warriors Workshop several times to create gorgeous custom adaptations of some of Spider-Gwen’s most iconic costumes, including her normal Ghost-Spider outfit as well as the “Reverse Gwen” costume, which inverts the color scheme of the hero’s classic look. Since Ghost-Spider began her adventures, after she was bitten by the radioactive spider on Earth-65 and watched her Peter Parker die, Gwen has had to deal with many enemies, including the Venom symbiote. After bonding with the Venom symbiote, Gwen became “Gwenom,” a terrifying but epic journey for the young hero, and a story that is gorgeously revived in Stacy Cosplays’ iconic rendition of the Gwenom look, which can be seen below:

While Spider-Gwen has donned many different looks since her debut in 2014, many of them come from variant covers and not from actual plots that Ghost-Spider was involved with, like Stacy Cosplays gorgeous recreation of a Carnage-bonded Ghost-Spider, potentially inspired by Iban Coello’s Carnage-ized variant cover for Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider #10. Another example is Stacy Cosplay’s brilliant recreation of “Anti-Gwenom” an anti-hero Spider-Gwen version of Earth-616s classic Anti-Venom character that only appeared on the cover of Edge of Venom-Verse, but includes stunning details including Anti-Venom’s iconic black-tendriled fingertips. In fact, all of Stacy Cosplays costumes, especially the ones she has designed with Web Warriors Workshop, are wonderfully detailed, adding beautiful webbing and physical designs to each of Ghost-Spider’s variant looks. One of Spider-Gwen’s best looks is Bengal’s interpretation of a “Spider-Gwen 2099,” drawn as a variant cover for Ghost-Spider #4.

With the recent Gwen-Verse series Spider-Gwen has been dealing with even more variations on her identity, spread throughout the Marvel Multiverse, which means the talented Stacy Cosplays has an even broader array of potential costumes to create, including Gwen-Thor and Gwenverine variants. Spider-Gwen is a character inherently tied to the Multiverse, so she has an almost endless supply of stunning variant costumes. Many of Gwen Stacy’s best variant costumes have been brilliantly reimagined and styled by the cosplay artist Stacy Cosplays, who highlights the ever-changing look of a hero key to the Spider-Verse and its infinite promise.
