Players have been living up all of their superhero fantasies with Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The follow-up to 2018’s breakout Spider-Man game ups the ante by allowing players to take control of a younger and more diverse Spidey as he attempts to follow in his mentor’s footsteps by defending New York City. It is an excellent experience, but it isn’t quite as long as its predecessor so many players may have already completed it.

Since that is the case that has probably left many of those players wondering what they should do next, and the most obvious choice to start up a New Game Plus. Unlock most games that receive this feature a few months after release, Spider-Man: Miles Morales launched with New Game Plus already a part of the experience. There are quite a few reasons to start a new game this way though. This guide shows players what they get for starting New Game Plus.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales – Everything That Carries Over in New Game Plus

As soon as players are done watching the credits roll in Spider-Man: Miles Morales they will immediately be able to start up a New Game Plus. This is usually a great way to restart a game a few months after the fact in order to jump back into the experience without having to worry about picking up the same upgrades and collectibles all over again. This is definitely a good reason for doing so in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but there are also new mechanics and upgrades introduced with New Game Plus as well.

First, just by completing the game, players will unlock a series of different things. There is the new Ultimate difficulty that can be used whenever players start up a new game that makes Spider-Man much more vulnerable and enemies much stronger than usual. Players are also able to replay any story missions that they wish at any time from the menu screen. Those who decide to start a New Game Plus though will receive these benefits:

  • All previously unlock skills and upgrades will carry over to the new game.
  • Any collectibles or gear that the player has collected will stay that way.
  • Players will receive the Spider-Training Suit
  • Players will receive the Threat Sensors Visor Mod and the Venom Suit Shield Mod
  • The abilities Lets Go, Unseen Force, and Bio-Electric Instincts can be unlocked.
  • Players will be able to upgrade the web-shooters, holo-drone, remote mines, and gravity well an additional time.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales can be played on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
