Tom Holland returns once again as Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man in the third film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man trilogy. Spider-Man: No Way Home brings back villains from across many Spider-Man movies for a film that celebrates three generations of Spider-Man.

With so many characters appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home, there are a plethora of costumes that help the characters stand out. Also, like always with the MCU Spider-Man, Peter Parker wears multiple suits with some being better than others.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Spider-Man (Inside Out)

As the name suggests, this actually is not a brand new suit. Instead, it is the upgraded red and black suit that Spider-Man created in Spider-Man: Far From Home but turned inside out. This look at the suit’s interior was actually first teased in Spider-Man: Homecoming when Peter removed the tracker from the Stark suit.

Visually, the Inside Out suit is well-crafted and is a neat glimpse at the tech inside Spider-Man’s iconic outfit. However, other than the upgraded gauntlet created by Doctor Strange, there is very little reason for this suit in the story other than another way for more Spider-Man toys. The only reason Peter turns it inside out is because of a critic throwing paint on the suit.

Spider-Man (Red And Black)

Overall, this is the exact same suit from Far From Home with the exception of a few streamlined details. Other than that, very few will be able to tell the difference between No Way Home and Far From Home. In a way, that’s a good thing because Peter’s upgraded red and black suit is still a beautiful suit.

The color scheme and design reminiscent of Miles Morales AKA Ultimate Spider-Man’s suit, the white spider logo, even the different web patterns on both the red and black portions help the suit stand out as Tom Holland’s distinct suit.

Doc Ock

While every villain was given a new design with their introduction to the MCU, Doc Ock remained mostly the same from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. This shows the effectiveness of Doc Ock and why he remains such an iconic villain in Marvel movie history.

A green trenchcoat, an undershirt, sunglasses, and four robotic tentacles. It’s a design that is the epitome of simple but effective; it may not be some over-the-top comic book-ish design but it is a perfect live-action look for Doctor Octopus with the only change being a temporary red upgrade to his tentacles.

Electro

Of the many Spider-Man movie villain designs, Electro’s in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was one of the more divisive ones. However, fans will appreciate that the blue-skinned Electro briefly makes an appearance before he is regenerated as a human.

In the climax, Max Dillon sports a new look that mixes a homemade scavenger look with the classic green and yellow design of the comics. Electro now sports yellow electricity thanks to being charged by Tony Stark’s arc reactor, even replicating the star-shaped mask via his powers. It’s definitely a unique costume that mixes old and new.

Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire)

Now that he’s older, it might have been expected that maybe Tobey Maguire’s iconic Spider-Man updated his design over the years. Instead, No Way Home shows that he didn’t fix what wasn’t broken with his suit popping straight out of the Sam Raimi trilogy.

From the raised webbing to the metallic lenses, it is the same suit and it still looks great when he’s standing next to Tom Holland. The only downfall is that Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker rarely wears the mask; most of his screentime is spent without the mask. Either way, it remains the same iconic suit that started all Spider-Man movie suits.

Spider-Man (Golden)

The Iron Spider overstayed its welcome and most fans agreed that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was too overreliant on Stark tech to get the job done. So Spider-Man: No Way Home gives one last hurrah to nanotechnology but in a much more reserved way. When Doc Ock gives Peter Parker back the nanotech, it simply creates a large golden spider across his torso.

No weapons, no artificial intelligence, and no cybernetic arms. Instead, it’s just a bit of armor that looks great, creating a dynamic new logo that is much larger than his usual logos. It’s a perfect upgrade to his red and black suit that retains a Spider-Man design without feeling like a second-rate Iron Man armor.

Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield)

Andrew Garfield also got his chance to return, and he sports the same suit he wore in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. There were many things to critique about The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but his suit was not one of them, as many fans consider it to be the best live-action Spider-Man suit thus far.

The suit ripples with the wind, giving it a more realistic design. It sports massive lenses reminiscent of Ultimate Spider-Man comics or the Todd McFarlane design of Spider-Man. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, the suit still looks just as great as it did in 2014 and Andrew Garfield still wore it perfectly.

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange has retained a consistent look from his first solo movie to his return in Spider-Man: No Way Home. There is a reason for that: it is a perfect costume for Doctor Strange with many hidden details. It keeps the comic book accurate look with the blue tunic, cloak of levitation with high collar, goatee, silver streaks of hair, and the Eye Of Agamotto around his neck.

However, it is still updated for modern times to look ancient and modernized at the same time. Benedict Cumberbatch is as perfect of a fit for Doctor Strange as Robert Downey Jr. was for Iron Man and he enhances the already great costume.

Green Goblin (Hooded)

Willem Dafoe steals Spider-Man: No Way Home with his villainous performance that exceeds his already iconic portrayal from the Sam Raimi trilogy. Green Goblin delivers many iconic quotes just like he did before but with the upgrade of letting Willem Dafoe use his expressions.

The often mocked Green Goblin mask returns but is quickly destroyed and cast aside for a new look with Green Goblin wearing a purple hoodie that slowly gets destroyed to reveal a new Goblin look. In the climax, Willem Dafoe wears a modified version of his classic armor, purple hood, and goggles that give him a classic Green Goblin look that compliments his dark performance.

Spider-Man (Ending)

After experiencing a trilogy-length origin story, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is now forced to live alone and create his own suit from scratch. The result is a classic red and blue suit that mixes elements of the Stark suit, Tobey Maguire’s suit, Andrew Garfield’s suit, and some new elements to create the most comic-accurate suit yet.

The ending in which Spider-Man is swinging through a wintery New York City showcases the suit for only one minute before the credits roll. It’s very reminiscent of the suit Spider-Man wears in the first few hours of Marvel’s Spider-Man and that’s not a bad thing, making fans excited to see the suit return in a sequel.
