Update: The British Board of Film Classification has now reported that the trailer listed on their website with an upcoming release date of December 15 is a trailer that was previously released, not a new one. They have explained that “The release date on the website is the release date for the film and not the trailer. We are updating our website to reflect this.”

A new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer will be released next week in the UK. With just around 10 days to go before the movie hits theaters exclusively, Marvel Studios and Sony are still doing a last-minute marketing push for the film with the rollout of shorter TV spots and various posters. The UK is receiving a slightly earlier release date than the US, and Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit UK screens on December 15.

The marketing for Spider-Man: No Way Home kickstarted fairly late. After the movie’s official title was announced back in February 2021 in celebration of production wrapping up, the first trailer didn’t release until late August. The second trailer released a couple of months later, in mid-November. Since then, various one-sheets and promo spots have been rolled out. Following the second trailer’s release, the press tour for the blockbuster kicked off, with both the cast and the producer currently making the rounds for their junket interviews. Considering that the Spider-Man: No Way Home release date is now very close, many assumed that there wouldn’t be another trailer for the Phase 4 film, but Marvel Studios and Sony are apparently dropping another one at the last minute.

A new listing from the British Board of Film Classification reveals that an upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer is scheduled to be released. While the listing classifies the trailer’s rating as 12A, unfortunately, there’s no specific release date or time for the trailer itself indicated on the post. However, the post does reveal that the new clip will be about two minutes long. It’s worth noting that the new trailer may not be a third, full-length trailer as the initial two have been. It could simply be a shorter version of a previously released trailer, or an alternate UK version of one. Check out the listing below:

It would be a surprising move from Marvel Studios and Sony to release a brand new full trailer next week, since Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to release in several international territories on December 15. Fans who are planning to see the film during its opening weekend have already secured their tickets after pre-order started last week. In fact, the demand was so high that it resulted in ticketing sites and apps crashing, leaving many buyers disappointed and frustrated. In Mexico, the Spider-Man: No Way Home ticket demand even resulted in a violent brawl among those who were looking to snag their opening weekend passes.

Aside from the release timing, it will be interesting to see what’s included in this new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer. The listing doesn’t provide any detail as to what kind of content fans can expect, but if previous trailers are any indication, it’s likely that it would only expand on what’s already known about the film thus far. However, it also reignites queries about whether or not Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will at least be teased in the upcoming trailer. The two Spider-Man actors have long been rumored to be in the threequel, but no confirmation whatsoever has been given by either Marvel Studios or Sony, with both studios heavily guarding Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s secrets.
