Spider-Man: No Way Home Wraps Filming

Spider-Man: No Way Home has wrapped filming in Atlanta. Marvel’s Phase 4 might has some of the studio’s most highly anticipated projects in history. When Black Widow premieres in theaters and on Disney+ July 9, it will have been over two years since Spider-Man: Far From Home hit theaters. Although the hype for Avengers: Endgame seemingly couldn’t be beat, the sequel to Far From Home is giving that film a run for its money. Spider-Man: No Way Home is shrouded in secrecy and the rumors swirling around it are partly responsible for this hype.

Just about any major star who has appeared in any Spider-Man film over the years has been attached or rumored to appear in the film. Peter Parkers Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have both been rumored for the film, while villains Doc Ock (Alfred Molina) and Electro (Jamie Foxx) have been also said to be returning – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the names floated. Alongside all the rumors, several cast members have been confirmed, including Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Benedict Cumberbatch who will appear as Doctor Strange.

Everyone, including star Tom Holland, has remained tight-lipped on what’s in store for the film, but fans may get a glimpse soon now that filming has wrapped. Stunt coordinator George Cottle posted on Instagram in celebration of Spider-Man: No Way Home wrapping filming. Cottle thanks Holland, Zendaya, Batalon, and director Jon Watts. Amid all the names Cottle mentions, he also tags Chris Daniels, the man who worked as Maguire’s stunt double on the original Spider-Man trilogy directed by Sam Raimi.

Cottle’s tagging of Daniels in the post comes weeks after Garfield’s stunt double from the Amazing Spider-Man films, William Spencer, posted a picture on a film set with Holland’s stunt double before quickly deleting the post. Wrap gifts from the set are also purported to feature Garfield’s Spider-Man suit on one of the gifts. Everything remains unconfirmed and Holland has been adamant about the fact that both Maguire and Garfield will NOT be appearing in the film, but all signs point to a cameo from the two.

Holland has said Spider-Man: No Way Home is the most ambitious standalone superhero film he’s ever seen and that alone seems to hint at some type of live-action SpiderVerse plot. How this all comes together remains to be seen, but now that principal photography has wrapped, we may get a glimpse at the film sooner rather than later. What a trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home will reveal remains to be seen, but Marvel should confirm the scope of the film sooner rather than later, lest the big surprises become stale as the franchise’s other anticipated sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, continues to stoke equally fervent speculation about what’s in store for the MCU.
