Tom Holland’s new Spider-Man trilogy is a good sign for Miles Morales’ Marvel Cinematic Universe future, as he is likely to appear in Spider-Man 45, or 6. Even before Spider-Man: No Way Home wraps up the first MCU trilogy for Holland’s Peter Parker, plans are already in motion for more. Marvel and Sony wanting to use more of this widely beloved version of Spider-Man is no surprise. Holland has become one of the MCU’s biggest stars thanks to his multiple appearances, but the reported upcoming Spider-Man trilogy could be where his MCU replacement is finally introduced.

Since the MCU rebooted Spider-Man as a high school student and kept him young for the Spider-Man: Homecoming trilogy, Holland’s Peter Parker has been viewed as a linchpin of the shared universe. News of Spider-Man 45, and 6 being in development only strengthens that viewpoint. However, Marvel Studios is known for its tendency to play the long game and set up characters or storylines years in advance of when they’ll actually be paid off. They’ve quietly done this already with Miles Morales, and while he’s not one of the versions of Spider-Man expected to appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, his MCU debut could come in the next trilogy.

Now that it is known that Holland’s Spider-Man will return for three more movies, Marvel and Sony have the opportunity to further expand his story and corner of the MCU. This should include bringing Miles Morales into the fold. Miles has been a popular character in the comics ever since he debuted in 2011, and he’s risen in notoriety in recent years thanks to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse or the Spider-Man: Miles Morales video game. There has been an increased interest in seeing Miles Morales in the MCU as a result, and even Tom Holland has put his support behind the idea. That’s why Spider-Man 45, and 6 have become the perfect movies to bring Miles into the universe and set up his MCU future.

The MCU has been teasing Miles Morales’ existence almost from the moment Spider-Man debuted. Spider-Man: Homecoming included Donald Glover as his uncle Aaron Davis, who mentioned his young nephew during the film. There is even a deleted scene that includes Aaron mentioning Miles by name. With Miles Morales confirmed to exist in the MCU, there has been an expectation that he’ll appear before too long. The question has always been when is the right time to introduce Miles and if the MCU would follow his comic origin and only have him become Spider-Man after Peter Parker dies. With a new trilogy of Spider-Man movies coming, there is plenty of time to incorporate Miles into Peter’s world.

If Spider-Man 45, and 6 introduce Miles Morales to the MCU, it should be fascinating to see how it plays out. The studios are unlikely to wait until Holland’s Spider-Man’s story is possibly done to put Miles in the suit, though. Miles can learn on the job and be part of the Young Avengers or Champions, while Peter acts as his mentor and plays a more prominent role with the main Avengers team. This could allow Miles and Peter to both be Spider-Man simultaneously in the MCU while going on their own adventures. Plus, it would allow Miles to possibly get his own solo film (or maybe a Disney+ series) following his debut in the next Spider-Man trilogy.
