While exploring the world of Spiritfarer, players will come across all kinds of different resources to collect and people to talk to, much like Animal Crossing. There is always something new tucked away on some island out in the ocean, and the player is tasked with exploring each one and discovering them. As the game progresses players can also build increasingly complicated buildings for their boat that will require rarer resources.

One of the more rare resources in Spiritfarer is Lightning in a Bottle. This resource is incredibly necessary for the latter portion of the game as it is required to upgrade some of the player’s buildings. The problem is that this resource can’t just be found randomly in the world. Players will instead have to go to specific areas on the map and create Lightning in a Bottle themselves. This guide shows players how to acquire the rare resource.

Spiritfarer: How to Acquire Lightning in a Bottle

Since players can’t find or purchase Lightning in a Bottle, they will need to do several things first to ensure that they can collect it. First things first players will want to have an empty bottle in their inventory. These bottles are relatively easy to track down. Players can find them randomly on different islands or can fish them out of the ocean. If all else fails they can also be purchased from one of the many stores in the game.

Once players have an empty bottle they will want to return to their ship and set sail for one of the thunderstorms on the map. Players will be able to see them on the map as a circle of clouds that have lightning on the edges. The player just has to set sail here and then go out on the deck and wait for their ship to arrive.

As players arrive inside of the storm it will begin raining very heavily and get very dark. The passenger Atul will then run outside and an exclamation mark will appear above his head. If players speak to him he will let them start the lightning mini-game. Basically players will begin to see sparks appear on certain locations on their ship. Players will need to run to those sparks and stand there so that lightning will strike them. If players are holding an empty bottle it will then become Lightning in a Bottle.

Spiritfarer can be played on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
