Warning! Spoilers for Suicide Squad #7 below!

It’s natural in the world of superheroes and supervillains to pass on their moniker down to their kids. Barry Allen’s future kids are speedsters, Batman’s son Damian is Robin (and in some universe’s Batman) and even Darkseid has an evil daughter. So, when Deadshot decided to visit his daughter Zoe, he learned that she’s got her own costume and superhero name: Liveshot!

Deadshot’s always tried to maintain a good relationship with his daughter Zoe, despite Task Force X taking him away from her. While his endgame with the Suicide Squad has always been to be free so he can be with Zoe, his background as a killer assassin has constantly thrown her in harm’s way. So, when he’s pardoned by the government, the first thing Deadshot does is visit his daughter, who surprises him with her own superhero get-up.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

In Suicide Squad #7 by Tom Taylor, Daniel Sampere, Juan Albarran, Adriano Lucas, and Wes Abbott, the recently pardoned Deadshot builds up the courage to visit his daughter. Zoe is thrilled to see him, but her mother Michelle needs convincing that Floyd isn’t bringing danger to their home. In a sweet scene, Zoe reveals to her dad that she’s been winning a lot of archery competitions and that she’s made up her own superhero persona called “Liveshot.”

However, the tender moment is cut short when a group of armed men show up and demand Floyd surrender. Despite every instinct telling him to fight back, Deadshot lays down and lets the men take him. That’s when Liveshot springs into action and shoots an arrow into the kneecap of one of the armed men. She fires a couple more arrows as Floyd notices “she’s really good.” One of the men starts firing at her, but thanks to Wink she’s able to be teleported out of danger before she gets hit.

It’s a tough scenario for Deadshot to be a part of. He believed his pardon would be honored, so when he’s shot at after finally getting to spend time with his daughter, he’s understandably upset. He dawns the mask again and promises to take out the people responsible for nearly killing his daughter (watch out Blue Beetle). As for Zoe, hopefully, it’s not the last we see of Liveshot. With Deadshot’s death being teased in future issues, perhaps she’s his heroic successor. She’d fit right in with the Revolutionaries under the mentorship of Aerie and Wink. Who wouldn’t want to see that?
