Warning: contains a preview of Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters #2!

In a new preview for Marvel’s Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters #2, the legendary Boba Fett crosses paths with none other than Bossk, the savage Trandoshan looking to collect the large bounty placed on Fett’s head. While the two bounty hunters have quite the history together, it seems as though money trumps any loyalty either might owe the other. Boba and Bossk are brawling ahead of Crimson’s Dawn auction of Han Solo, putting to rest any question of who’s the more skilled warrior.

Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters #2 comes from Charles Soule and Luke Ross, and sees Boba Fett determined to get Solo’s carbonite-encased body back into his possession and complete delivery to Jabba the Hutt. The infamous smuggler has been stolen by none other than the reborn Crimson Dawn. Now, Darth Maul’s former operation is holding an auction to sell Solo, hoping to legitimize their return in epic fashion by offering the most valuable person in the galaxy, and a lot of heads have turned in response. Sadly, one of those heads belongs to Jabba, who has placed a bounty on both Solo and Fett, thinking the latter has betrayed him.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Having previously carried out the seemingly impossible assassination of a Banking Clan official for Jabba, Bossk – who first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back – has little to prove but a lot to gain by taking Fett down. Due to their last harsh meeting in Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #4, it looks as though the Trandoshan has decided to forget their past partnership in favor of scoring big. Enjoy the Marvel Comics preview of the issue, which wastes no time in answering who’s most likely to triumph when these two iconic bounty hunters clash:

Despite being tied up before he’s even aware of Bossk’s presence, Boba quickly gets the upper hand, leaving the rival hunter to try and leverage survival based on their past relationship. After all, Bossk protected Boba during the Clone Wars era when Fett was still building his reputation and trying to get vengeance for his father’s death. While Boba elects not to kill the Trandoshan, that doesn’t make him any less ruthless, tying the cold-blooded Bossk up in freezing temperatures to set an example to others who might be thinking about coming after him.

Bossk is a lethal bounty hunter who has accomplished some staggering feats, but in starting off the battle with a huge advantage and ending it tied to a rock, he confirms that Boba Fett is Star Wars’ go-to hunter for a reason. Despite his victory, Boba Fett is still clearly concerned about the bounty on his head, leaving Bossk alive to warn his other pursuers not to get in his way when Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters #2 hits physical and digital retailers July 14.
