Few things have ever taken the internet by storm in quite the way that the viral sensation known as Baby Yoda has. Introduced in the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian, the character actually known within the universe for now as The Child has become one of the most beloved characters in franchise – and internet – history. From his adorably large eyes, to his cute baby noises, to his preference for eating frogs, there’s nothing you can’t love about this teeny tiny Force user.

As a result, Baby Yoda has become the star of many memes in the time since The Mandalorian first premiered on November 12. Most recently, following the release of Chapter Four, “Sanctuary,” a new meme has been born that piggybacks on the popularity of the Kermit the Frog sipping tea meme. A brief scene in the episode, in which Baby Yoda sips a cup of bone broth, has become synonymous with “but that’s none of my business” and much more in the meme-using community. Here, we’re taking a look at ten of the best and funniest uses of the meme so far.

10 Baby Yoda runs on Dunkin

In this hilarious adaptation of the Baby Yoda sipping “tea” meme, Twitter user @tkylemac Photoshopped the meme to include an iced coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts in Baby Yoda’s little green hands. The caption itself makes fun of the popularity, especially in the Northeast United States, to continue drinking iced coffee even well into the freezing winter months.

This meme is also doubly valid and funny, since it shows that Baby Yoda doesn’t have to just be drinking tea from the tiny bowl he’s pictured with in the episode. Maybe Baby Yoda prefers something a little stronger, and maybe he just does run on Dunkin’.

9 Kids these days

Making fun of every other generation is basically a rite of passage. It’s easy enough to make fun of millennials these days – and that’s something that social media at large seemingly relishes in doing. Similarly, Baby Yoda has been coopted for the recent “ok, boomer” meme, with plenty of Baby Yoda memes reading “boomer, ok” instead.

But as this Baby Yoda tea-sipping meme shows, it’s not just the millennials and boomers who are being made fun of on the internet these days. Generation Z is totally fair game for the internet memes, especially when they’re as ridiculously easy to stereotype as the New Yorker kids mentioned in this tweet from user @bodega_gyro_ao.

8 A jingle we’d all love to sing

As Baby Yoda’s digital fame continues to skyrocket, it’s become increasingly common for brands including major retailers and professional sports teams to even get in on the meme making fun. So it’s really only a matter of time before some official brand endorsement or cross-promotion comes along.

And given the popularity of the Baby Yoda soup sipping meme, and the way it’s been repurposed for shadily sipping tea or coffee, it would only make sense for Baby Yoda to be a brand ambassador for a caffeinated beverage. As Twitter user @annetdonahue writes, it would be natural for Folger’s to rework their traditional jingle to incorporate Baby Yoda’s cup.

7 Baby Yoda: A Romantic Comedy

If there’s one thing that Baby Yoda’s meme popularity has shown, it’s that it’s surprisingly easy to find other pieces of popular culture to fit Baby Yoda into – even something as conventional and cozy as Nancy Meyers’ romantic comedies.

Characters are pretty stock-like and tropey in the world of the romantic comedy, including Meyers’ works such as The Holiday, The Parent Trap, and It’s Complicated. It’s not hard, then, to think of these movies and picture a mom or middle-aged woman, curled up with a cup of tea or coffee, offering sage advice or pondering important decisions – just like Baby Yoda.

6 Baby Yoda: An Alien Musical

There are lots of theories floating around online regarding Baby Yoda’s origins, his parentage, the details of his species, and much more. But the hit Twitter account @BabyYodaBaby may have just solved the entire mystery of his parentage, all while also setting up the perfect crossover for Baby Yoda into the world of Broadway.

In a recent tweet, @BabyYodaBaby noted a marked similarity between the Baby Yoda sipping tea meme, and a screenshot of Hamilton‘s Lin-Manuel Miranda in His Dark Materials, prompting the caption “Father?” We’re convinced.

5 You know they mean business

People are passionate when they’re watching their favorite shows. But there’s a certain saying that means the viewer absolutely means business and cannot be bothered by any means at all: “Don’t disturb me while I’m watching my stories.”

Most often associated with mothers and grandmothers watching their favorite soap operas or telenovelas, this is a saying that should be familiar with most people of all ages. And apparently, we can add Baby Yoda to the soap opera age demographic. He is a 50-year-old, after all.

4 Merry Christmas, moms everywhere

For some reason, there seems to be a real affinity in the world of memes between Baby Yoda and mothers, at least when it comes to the soup and tea-sipping meme. Whether it’s the baby alien’s cozy clothing, the adorable way he’s cupping his little bowl, or his general thoughtful demeanor, something about Baby Yoda connotes motherliness.

But none of the memes about moms have been as spot-on as @TheJulieBenson’s observation that Baby Yoda sipping his soup sure looks a whole lot like every mom on Christmas morning, curled up with coffee at the crack of dawn and expectantly watching their little ones open their gifts from Santa.

3 Jolly, tis the season to be

The connection between Baby Yoda and Christmas also sure seems to be a strong one, and given the timing of the release of The Mandalorian, it only makes sense. But this other gem from @BabyYodaBaby on Twitter takes things one step further, making Baby Yoda a baby version of the man in the red suit and hat himself.

In this meme, Baby Yoda is none other than Santa Claus, and in true Yoda fashion, rather than say “Ho Ho Ho,” he says “Oh Oh Oh” – a cheeky little use of Yoda’s backwards speech patterns that really has us wondering what Baby Yoda’s first words will be.

2 No shade, just tea

It was only a matter of time before Baby Yoda’s shady tea-sipping memes began to be applied to the Star Wars fandom itself. But none of them have been as absolutely savage and bold as Twitter user @heathdwilliams’ meme, making light of the over the top outrage from certain sections of the fandom aimed at Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi.

In this Photoshopped meme, Baby Yoda’s signature cup of soup has been replaced with a white coffee mug, hilariously labeled “FANBOY TEARS,” in connection with @heathdwilliams’ witty commentary about watching the ongoing outrage about the now two-year-old film. Baby Yoda is judging you all.

1 An artistic tribute worthy of a true Jedi

Who says memes can’t be works of art in their own right? Twitter user @StephenByrne86 dispels that notion out of hand completely with his adorable and stunning fanart recreation of the Baby Yoda meme. From the adorable glimmer in the baby’s eyes, to his floppy ears, to the deliberate way he cups his bowl of soup, @StephenByrne86 captures everything about Baby Yoda perfectly.

Making it all the more perfect is the use of “Spill the Tea” as the caption above the fanart, permanently encapsulating the meme’s legacy as tea sipping shade material, and so much more than just a baby drinking a bowl of bone broth.
