So it turns out that, after all this time, Reylo was actually a thing after all. Many fans were delighted at the sight of the redeemed Ben Solo kissing Rey during the final stages of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, just after he’d brought the former Jakku scavenger back to life. And, even though he died, Reylo fans across the globe have celebrated this scene in the short time since the blockbuster’s release.

So we now take a look at the top 10 Reylo moments of the entire saga…

10 Don’t Be Afraid

After capturing Rey on the planet of Takodana following a fiery showdown between the Resistance and the First Order in The Force Awakens, Kylo Ren takes the scavenger to be interrogated. Once there, he takes issues with her comments about his mask and chooses this moment to reveal his face for the first time in the blockbuster.

He gives Rey an intense look – one she returns – as he does this. He then tells her not to be afraid, speaking almost as if to a lover, softening his tone in the process. It’s this scene that actually kickstarted the Reylo theories, with some believing the chemistry between the two characters to be stronger than friends, certainly much more than direct enemies.

9 Let The Past Die

The Last Jedi is full of scenes where Kylo Ren and Rey, using their strange force bond, interact with each other. And one of the most memorable is when the former Jakku scavenger witnesses the First Order leader being topless in his own private chambers.

Rey clearly doesn’t want to look at him, but she finds herself transfixed as he urges her to let the past die. Fair play to Adam Driver because he’s looking SWOLE during this sequence, and there are certainly romantic undertones as they exchange words, all while his bare torso is on show.

8 Touching Hands

As Rey finds herself being shoved aside by Luke Skywalker, who is reluctant to train her for reasons we don’t quite understand, she ends up looking to Kylo Ren for comfort.

And the duo appear to share the same feelings for each other, touching hands through their force bond. It looks as if something big is about to happen, but an enraged Luke interjects and, using the power of the force, is able to destroy the hut in which Rey sits. It’s also where Kylo, for the first time, reveals that his uncle tried to kill him during that fateful night all those years ago.

7 The Elevator Scene

Believing Kylo Ren will be redeemed, Rey gives herself up for interrogation via the evil, gnarly hands of Supreme Leader Snoke. But, just before the doors open to reveal his crimson throne room, she pleads with Kylo to give up the power of the dark side.

Rey looks up to him lovingly during this scene, with Kylo looking shocked at how she feels about him. As someone who’s been made to feel useless and unwanted by his master, this then sets the scene for what happens next…

6 The Throne Room Fight

It looks as if Snoke had won when he ordered Kylo Ren to take down Rey, who is defenseless. Adam Driver’s character appears set to kill her but, in a surprising twist, he murders his master instead. He and Rey then exchange a look, a loving look, before things all kick-off.

Snoke’s Praetorian guards come at the duo, and they use each other – as well as the force and their lightsabers – to wipe them out. What’s cute is that Rey actually throws a lightsaber to Kylo, which he sticks through one of the guard’s eyes.

5 You’re Nothing. But Not To Me

Audiences were genuinely shocked when Kylo decided to kill Snoke rather than Rey. And, as the dust settles, attentions turn to what happens next. Knowing there’s still much of The Last Jedi to come – as well as a third movie in the trilogy – an alliance seems unlikely.

Yet that’s what Kylo offers Rey, telling her that she’s ‘nothing’ but not to him. To him, she’s special. Daisy Ridley’s character looks genuinely tempted to take his hand as he goes to embrace her, but she instead goes for the Skywalker lightsaber, snubbing the chance to start afresh. The lightsaber is then destroyed and, when they both wake up following Vice Admiral Holdo’s suicide mission, Rey has managed to get away.

4 I Did Want To Take Your Hand

In The Rise of Skywalker, Kylo Ren and Rey face off on the ruins of the Death Star. This time, however, it’s Ben Solo who looks set to die after Rey impales him with his own lightsaber after he pauses amid the fight, sensing the death of his mother, Leia Organa.

Yet Rey romantically nurses him back to health, touching his tender wounds. She also reveals that she would have taken his hand – but the hand of Ben Solo, and not Kylo Ren. This revelation, coupled with Leia’s tragic passing and a vision involving Han Solo, sees Ben shed his identity as Kylo and return to the light side of the force.

3 Passing The Lightsaber

As the Resistance fleet suffer casualties at the hands of the Final Order, Rey goes to tackle Palpatine. However, just as all hope looks lost, she senses that Ben Solo has come to her aid. And, in a beautiful surprise, she then initiates their force bond and passes Ben the Skywalker lightsaber.

This is significant. She gives up one of her weapons to help Ben defeat the Knights of Ren, which he duly does. They then stand side by side, united in their goal of destroying Palpatine, and take the fight to the Sith Lord.

2 Healing Rey

Reylo fans were devastated when Rey appears to die after managing to finally defeat Palpatine once and for all. With Ben Solo also seemingly dead, having been sent down a huge bottomless pit, it looks as if the final installment of the Skywalker saga is about to end in tragedy.

However, in a dramatic twist, Ben then climbs from the pit. He looks devastated at the death of the girl he loves and, consequently, chooses to heal her by using the same power Rey herself had used earlier in the movie.

1 The Kiss

This was what Reylo fans had been hoping to see. The final interaction between Rey and Kylo Ren is a romantic kiss, showing that the duo have been harboring deep feelings for one another throughout the entirety of the sequel trilogy.

And what makes it even more beautiful is that Ben Solo tragically dies. In healing Rey, he transferred his life to her, ensuring she can continue to be a beacon of hope for many around the galaxy. It’s a sad gesture but a touching one and strengthens how we view their relationship going forward in the process.
