Star Wars: Visions Trailer Reveals New Force Powers & Anime Boba Fett
Lucasfilm has released the Star Wars: Visions trailer teasing its upcoming Disney+ animated anthology series. The series is set to be a collaboration between Lucasfilm and various Japanese anime studios, with each episode produced by a different studio (though a handful are producing two, as is the case for Studio Trigger). Visions is by far one of Lucasfilm’s most experimental ventures to date as the first Star Wars animated series to explore eras outside of the Skywalker Saga. Some stories are set to take place years before Episode I: The Phantom Menace, while others will take place years in the future after the events of Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
The Star Wars: Visions trailer highlights the diverse assortment of animation and art styles that make up the series’ nine episodes. From 3D models, to black-and-white charcoal-esque and traditional cel-shaded art, this series seems to have it all. Check out the Star Wars: Visions trailer below.

Visions opens an exciting new door for the future of Star Wars storytelling. Most of the Star Wars-related projects from Lucasfilm in the past few years (certainly every feature film and television series) have been tied to the franchise’s larger canon chronology. While this presents an interesting and cohesive world for diehard fans to enjoy, it limits the sort of stories that new storytellers are able to tell in the universe. Fortunately, Visions takes place outside of the canon continuity which will provide the creators a chance to let their imaginations run wild.
Star Wars: Visions is streaming on Disney+ from September 22.
