Star Wars’ Young Boba Fett Remembers Original Actor in Throwback Image

Daniel Logan, who played young Boba Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, remembers the bounty hunter’s original actor, Jeremy Bulloch, in a throwback image. Bulloch originally played Star Wars‘ iconic Boba Fett in 1980’s Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back before reprising his role in 1983’s Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Unfortunately, Bulloch passed away on December 17, 2020, just as The Mandalorian brought his character back into the limelight.

Despite having next to no lines in the original Star Wars trilogy, Bulloch’s presence helped make Boba Fett one of the most beloved Star Wars characters of all time. In Return of the Jedi, Fett seemingly meets his end via a Sarlacc Pit. However, the Disney+ The Mandalorian series, which takes place after the events of Episode VI, revealed Fett survived. In The Mandalorian  season 2, the character was brought back with a vengeance. Disney and Lucasfilm added an homage to Bulloch in The Mandalorian’s season 2 finale. Just before the credits scene teasing The Book of Boba Fett, a tribute can be seen showing the episode’s dedication: “In Memory of Jeremy Bulloch.”

Logan, who played Fett in Attack of the Clones and voiced the character in The Clone Wars, recently shared an image of himself and Bulloch at a fan convention. Bulloch regularly participated in the convention circuit after his Boba role, and was beloved by fans everywhere. In the throwback image and touching caption, Logan pays homage to his predecessor, saying “Gone but never forgotten.” See his original post below:

Not the original version portrayed by Bulloch, Logan’s Boba was revealed to be a genetic clone and adoptive son of Jango Fett (Temuera Morrison) in Attack of the Clones. That being said, The Mandalorian brought back Fett with Morrison in the role courtesy of a subplot involving his long-lost family armor. Now, Morrison is front and center, leading his own series in The Book of Boba Fett, which releases on Disney+ on December 29.

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Robert Rodriguez’s series will also feature Fennec Shand, and will further explore the galactic underworld as Fett takes over Jabba the Hutt’s territory. It’s safe to say Fett will not only remain one of the most beloved Star Wars characters, but also one of the most prominent moving forward. While Morrison’s face is now used to portray Fett, every time he puts that helmet on, he’s doing so for himself and the actors who came before. Not the least of these is Jeremy Bullock; the man who first donned the helmet, jetpack, and carried Boba Fett with him for a large portion of his life. To quote Logan, gone but never forgotten.
