A new update to Stardew Valley has finally introduced the feature to allow players to play in Split-Screen. This guide will show players how they can do it. The new 1.5 updates for Stardew Valley has added tons of new content for old and new players to enjoy. While the update is only available for PC for now, it is scheduled to release on other platforms in 2021. In this new update, players are able to discover a new island off the coast of Pelican Town called Ginger Island. Once the player assists Willy the Fishermen with repairing his boat, the player is off to sail the seas and dive into all the new content for Ginger Island. One of the new changes in this update is the ability to play Split-Screen. This guide will show players how.

Multiplayer allows players to create their own town experience with a friend by their side. While players can do almost everything in the main game with another player, there are small limitations like how the sleeping system is handled. The game has featured online multiplayer for a few updates now but Split-Screen is finally here. This guide will show players how they can set up Split-Screen in the game.

How To Set Up Split-Screen Multiplayer in Stardew Valley

There are two different ways players can set up Split-Screen multiplayer in Stardew Valley.

  • For Players with Established Islands: The player will need to build a new cabin from Robin’s. This will provide a new location for the second player to live in and jump into the game.
  • For New Players: From the start of the game, the player can select the option to have the cabin built from the very beginning, allowing players to skip the building process. Players can do this by entering the advanced game options to set this.

Now that the cabins are here, head to Multiplayer and select “Start Local Co-Op”. Players can adjust how the screens look and how the UI is for each player. This is perfect for those who want to get cuddly and build a new life together in a virtual world. Stardew Valley is one of the most relaxing games to release in the last few years. Before Animal Crossing: New Horizons released, this was the main life-sim that many were playing to bide their time. Now with the new 1.5 updates, there is so much to explore and discover and the best way to do that is with a friend by your side.

Stardew Valley is available now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, and Android.
