The Street Fighter franchise is one of the most popular within the fighting game genre, and at the heart of those games is Ryu. Arguably the most powerful and dominant of all the Street Fighter characters, Ryu is someone who gamers often flock to choose as soon as possible due to his incredible hand-to-hand combat skills and his immense popularity with gamers.

Since his creation, Ryu has branched out to take on other challenges as the franchise has developed. Gamers have been able to use Ryu against characters from the Marvel world and those from Tekken, setting up true dream fights for gamers to play. But if Ryu was able to battle against the heroes from the world of DC, how would he get on?

10 Could Defeat: Shazam (Billy Baston)

Shazam and Ryu would have a great fight as both of these characters are incredibly strong and powerful, they can conjure up huge power surges and they’re good at fighting. However, Ryu would win purely on experience factor alone.

Sometimes, when a fight is close, having the extra experience is enough to see it through and when it comes to Billy Baston, that is something he lacks a lot of. On the other hand, Ryu is a veteran and someone who has a deep understanding of how to win a fight.

9 Would Lose To: Batman

Batman is one of the most iconic DC characters, and much like Ryu, his real strength comes in hand to hand combat. The two men are both very strong and good fighters, and they would likely have a very even contest throughout any fight that they had.

However, with Batman being the king of gadgets and gizmos, this would likely be the difference-maker in helping him defeat the Street Fighter character. Batman is very rarely defeated, which is often down to his intelligence to find a weakness in his opponent, and that would likely be the difference within this dream fight.

8 Could Defeat: Robin

While Ryu might struggle against the Dark Knight, when it comes to Batman’s iconic sidekick he would have no trouble in defeating him. Ryu simply benefits from having far too much experience when it comes to facing the younger DC star.

Robin brings a lot of enthusiasm to the table, and his speed would certainly be an advantage in this fight. But once Ryu manages to get hold of him, then it’s going to be game over, no matter what Robin tries.

7 Would Lose To: Green Lantern

Green Lantern is just far too unpredictable for Ryu, which would make it an unfair fight from the start. While Ryu has faced a huge range of magical abilities and powers throughout Street Fighter’s history, the Green Lantern is someone who is a master at the craft.

Being able to use the Green Lantern Ring to create whatever they want, there’s only the creativity and imagination of this DC hero stopping him from defeating Ryu. Green Lantern can create things to be used to defend himself and to attack, and having that mix will be the decisive factor.

6 Could Defeat: The Flash

Obviously, The Flash has got a major advantage when it comes to his speed, and this would allow him to avoid any close contact, which would give Ryu an easy victory due to his hand-to-hand combat skills. However, the Street Fighter icon would still likely win this fight.

Using one of his special moves, whether that be Hadouken or Shoryuken to catch out The Flash would simply stop him dead in his tracks. At this point, Ryu would have distinct advantages that would grant him victory.

5 Would Lose To: Cyborg

A fight between Ryu and Cyborg is one that could be incredibly interesting. In terms of power, strength, and pure fighting abilities, these two popular characters would likely have an incredible back and forth fight as both of them are very strong.

However, Cyborg has a clear advantage due to the technology that is within him. It gives the DC hero a big advantage that would likely prove to be just enough for him to defeat the video game star.

4 Could Defeat: Deadshot

While there’s no denying the fact that Deadshot has got fantastic aim, and would certainly be a threat from a distance, if you were to take away his weapons this would be a very one-sided affair. Ryu has too much power and greater fighting skills to give him a clear victory in this one.

Even from afar, if Ryu was able to connect with the Hadoken, it would also be enough to help him on his way to a victory. The powerful move is something that Ryu could hit from distance, which would likely take away Deadshot’s biggest advantage.

3 Would Lose To: Aquaman

Ryu might be able to give Aquaman a good fight, but ultimately he would come up short against this particular DC hero. The fact is that Ryu’s biggest weapon, his Hadouken power move is one that would be rendered pretty useless against Aquaman.

He would easily be able to counter this one due to his abilities with water, and since he can then use that as an advantage for him, this just feels likes a fight that Ryu couldn’t manage to get on top of, despite his best efforts.

2 Could Defeat: Beast Boy

Beast Boy’s ability to change himself into different animals is something that would no doubt throw a curveball into the mix if a fight between him and Ryu were to break out. However, Ryu has battled all types of different creatures and powerful beasts before, and this is nothing he couldn’t handle.

Once Ryu got ahold of Beast Boy, it would simply be game over when it comes to his incredible hand-to-hand combat skills, which would be too much for the DC star, allowing Ryu to get the victory in this one.

1 Would Lose To: Superman

When it comes to the DC world, the strongest and most powerful hero is no doubt, Superman. He is a character that is almost invincible at points, and unless Ryu is going to be able to turn up to a fight with some kryptonite in hand, it’s very unlikely he will get any luck taking him on.

Superman just has far too many ways to be able to damage Ryu, and because he’s just as strong as the Street Fighter character, it’s unlikely he would get any luck. With his ability to fly, his incredible strength, and his x-ray vision, Superman just has too much for Ryu to compete against.
