Summer House: How Lindsay Used Austen To Upset Ciara

After watching Lindsay Hubbard pursue Austen Kroll on Summer House, fans think that she was purposely trying to make Ciara Miller jealous. Austen seemingly came to the Hamptons to shake things up in his love triangle with Lindsay and Ciara. His unfinished business with Ciara and Lindsay carried over into the summer. With Lindsay and Ciara being housemates, their mutual crush on Austen caused friction between them. Considering the huge blowup brewing between Ciara and Danielle Olivera, fans are noticing all the ways that Lindsay ignited the feud.

Lindsay and Ciara have been subtly competing with each other for Austen’s attention. Despite Austen telling Lindsay that he loves her like a sister on Winter House, she invited him out to the Hamptons to celebrate her birthday. In the meantime, Austen was enjoying himself toying back and forth between Lindsay and Ciara. Alas, his flirty behavior led to a blowup fight between Ciara and Lindsay’s BFF Danielle. Given all of this backstory, some fans think that Lindsay knew exactly what she was doing when pursuing Austen at the Hamptons’ house.

Leading up to the episode of Ciara and Danielle’s fight, a fan on Reddit shared a screenshot of Lindsay telling Danielle her plans to hook up with Austen. “She’s starting to get activated, look at Danielle’s expression, it’s priceless,” the original poster wrote. “I don’t know what anyone sees in Austen,” they added. Many questioned why Lindsay and Ciara would allow their friendship to be affected by Austen. The Southern Charm star had already turned Lindsay and Ciara on Winter House. Both ladies were hoping to see where things would go with Austen, but he let them both know separately that he wasn’t looking to settle down.

Lindsay directly told Austen that she was in love with him, which is when she heard that he only loves her like a sister. In turn, Ciara expressed a genuine interest in Austen and put her other potential flings aside when Austen visited the Hamptons. Overall, Ciara’s crush on Austen was noticeably clear. And yet, Lindsay continued to pursue Austen in front of Ciara. Both ladies made out with him while the other watched. Viewers noted how Lindsay had already admitted to hooking up with Austen in the past, so her summer pursuit of him was just so that she could hook up with him “in the room over from Ciara to establish dominance,” one Redditor commented. “I think she’s just trying to make a power move over Ciara,” added someone else.

Others felt like Lindsay and Ciara both used Austen because they were “competing for the same person” and trying to see who would “win.” In the end, Lindsay and Ciara’s love triangle with Austen led to Danielle getting a glass of red wine thrown in her face. Overall, the Summer House was flipped upside down because of their messy fight. It doesn’t appear like the ladies have mended their broken friendship since the fight, but Lindsay was at least able to find love with her longtime friend Carl. Ciara, on the other hand, is still on the market and likely not looking for any guys who have a history with her housemates.
