Stephen McGee appeared on Summer House for the first two seasons, but he has since moved on from his life as a reality TV star. During his time on the Bravo series, Stephen was fairly new to the group of friends. He became very close with Lauren and Ashley Wirkus, as well as Carl Radke. While he remained close with the Wirkus twins until the end of his final season, he and Carl were not ready to mend their broken friendship.

During his first season, Stephen became a favorite amongst Bravo fans. They loved his carefree attitude towards some of his castmates and his funny throw-away comments. However, viewers quickly turned on him after he spilled a secret Carl Radke told him in confidence off-camera. Carl was understandably upset by the revelation and didn’t understand why Stephen had to make his story public knowledge. Since then, the Alabama native left reality TV, and a few of his friends, behind.

According to Stephen’s LinkedIn page, he is still working as an event director. He is currently freelancing, which he has been doing since 2010. In the past, Stephen has planned, designed, and executed several product launches, birthday parties, charity events, and weddings while working side-by-side with some of the most well-known celebrity event planners. Besides his career in event planning, the 31-year-old is also somewhat of an influencer on Instagram. While he doesn’t share sponsored content often, Stephen has in the past. His most recent sponsored post was from October 2020, and it was an ad for the popular hair growth supplement brand Nutrafol.

As for Stephen’s friendships, he reportedly is still close to the Wirkus twins. He recently visited them in Palm Springs, where the three of them met up for a fun getaway. Ashley Wirkus currently lives in San Diego, which isn’t too far from where the three friends stayed. Stephen is also very close with former Vanderpump Rules cast members Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, who were also part of the Bravo network. He even attended the couple’s wedding in 2019 in Kentucky. The former reality star is also working on becoming a better person. In September 2020, Stephen announced he was a year sober. “Today, I am 1 year sober. I woke up to watch the sunrise in Montauk after the most challenging year of my life […] I am forever grateful to those of you who encouraged me and lifted me up to help me get to this beautiful place,” he wrote in an Instagram caption.

Since saying goodbye to Summer House in 2018, Stephen has been working to better his career and his personal life. Not only is he still freelancing as an event director, but he is also almost two years sober. Now that he is sober, as is Carl, maybe Stephen can make a return to the Bravo show, where he and Carl can repair their relationship as sober buddies on the upcoming season.
