The Super Bowl often features several trailers for new movies and TV shows; here’s every trailer airing with the 2022 Super Bowl LVI commercials. With the 56th annual edition of football’s biggest night comes the live sporting event that nearly 100 million people tune in for every year. It’s an American tradition, but what’s also become just as big a tradition as the game itself is anticipating the slate of big-budget, star-studded commercials companies trot out in front of TV’s biggest audience.

Not to be outdone though, part of this ad push involves trailer spots for the biggest upcoming movies and TV shows, as studios and streaming outlets hope such a big marketing push will lead to a big viewership when the movie releases or show premieres. It’s not a gamble that always pays off, and at a price of $6.5 million for a 30-second Super Bowl spot, it’s a pricey risk to take. Still, if the trailer does well and the audience follows, that money ends up having been spent for a good reason.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Embedded below for convenience is every movie and TV trailer shown during the Super Bowl – or released in advance of it – so far. More trailers will be added as the game unfolds live on NBC. For anyone wanting to view the 2022 Super Bowl ads for companies like Budweiser and Doritos, every big game commercial that’s not a movie or TV trailer can be found at the previous link.

Ambulance

Coming in April is the latest action/thriller film from blockbuster director Michael Bay, Ambulance, and it received a trailer spot during the big game. Jake Gyllenhaal and the rapidly rising Yahya Abdul-Mateen II star as Danny and William Sharp, a pair of adopted brothers that also happen to be bank robbers. Unfortunately, their latest heist goes awry.

Bel-Air

A dramatic reboot of the beloved 1990s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, simply titled Bel-Air, is headed to the Peacock streaming service on the same day as the Super Bowl LVI, February 13, 2022. The above ad is an unorthodox preview, as it features no footage from the reboot, only original star Will Smith leading a remix of sorts of the classic Fresh Prince theme song.

DC Movies 2022

Warner Bros.’ big Super Bowl spot serves as a combo trailer for all four of its 2022 DC movie offerings. Those are The Batman, Black Adam, The Flash, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The Black Adam footage finally provides fans of the character with a look at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson fully suited up in motion. The Flash footage also features the voice of Michael Keaton, set to play Batman for the first time since 1992.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Released during the Super Bowl kickoff show, Disney’s new trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness promises even more of the breathtaking imagery found in the first Doctor Strange, while also dialing up the multiverse shenanigans to 11. The actual plot is still pretty vague, although clearly Strange teams up with Scarlet Witch to try and fix some kind of damage to the multiverse.

Disney+ GOATs

Disney+’s rather cute Super Bowl commercial highlights all the candidates for “greatest of all time” movies and TV shows that the streaming service boasts. Titles mentioned include The Simpsons, Toy Story, Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King, and more, all personified by actual goats. Shang-Chi star Awkafina serves as the non-furry face of the ad.

Jurassic World: Dominion

Ahead of the Super Bowl, Universal released the first full trailer for Jurassic World: Dominion, the final entry in the current trilogy. Dominion follows on from where Fallen Kingdom ended, with dinosaurs roaming free in the wild. Dominion‘s biggest drawing card for many is the return of original Jurassic Park stars Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), and Ellie Satler (Laura Dern).

Lightyear

Also released ahead of Super Bowl LVI by Disney is the first trailer for Lightyear, a spinoff of the Toy Story franchise that casts Chris Evans as the voice of the “real” Buzz, a heroic astronaut that inspired the line of toys voiced by Tim Allen in the original movies. Lightyear also comes complete with a robotic cat companion, which will no doubt be Disney’s next big merchandise mover.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Amazon has released a teaser trailer during the Super Bowl for its upcoming Lord of the Rings TV series, subtitled The Rings of Power. The new show takes place thousands of years before the Lord of the Rings movies, or even The Hobbit trilogy, set during the Second Age of Middle-earth. Amazon plans to spend $1 billion on five seasons of the series, making it the most expensive in history.

The Lost City

Another Super Bowl 2022 trailer is The Lost City. The big game spot features a lot of the same humorous moments from the full trailer for the romantic adventure comedy. Sandra Bullock stars as romance novelist Loretta Sage, who gets roped into a real-life adventure by an eccentric billionaire played by Daniel Radcliffe. Out to rescue Loretta is cover model Alan, played by Channing Tatum, eager to prove he’s a real-life hero. Brad Pitt also appears in a small role.

Moon Knight

Disney+ boasted an excellent run of Marvel Studios TV shows in 2021, and looks to continue that success with its first 2022 offering, Moon Knight. Oscar Isaac stars as the titular protagonist, a character that has some problems keeping his own identity straight. Ethan Hawke is cast opposite Isaac as series villain Arthur Harrow, a manipulative cult leader.

Netflix Movies 2022

Netflix’s Super Bowl ad spotlights its plan to have new original movies releasing every week of 2022, many featuring recognizable A-list stars. Getting a particularly large spotlight is The Adam Project, a sci-fi/adventure in which Ryan Reynolds travels back in time and ends up working alongside his younger self. Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, and Zoe Saldana also star.

Nope

Another one released before the big game, the first trailer for Jordan Peele’s mysterious Nope finally arrived. Few have trailers as intriguing as Peele’s horror movies, and Nope is no exception. A horse ranch and small frontier town outside Los Angeles start to experience something terrifying and malevolent coming from the sky. Judging from the trailer’s setup, the plot almost certainly involves aliens. But considering Peele’s previous films Get Out and Us, it’s likely not to be quite that straightforward.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Super Bowl 2022 also has a Sonic the Hedgehog 2 trailer spot that highlights the coming showdown between Sonic and Knuckles, as well as the return of Jim Carrey as the villainous Dr. Robotnik. Also featured is Sonic’s fox pal Tails, who’s making his official debut as a character after a cameo late in the first movie. Director Jeff Fowler returns from the first Sonic movie, as does the writing duo of Pat Casey and Josh Miller.

WWE WrestleMania XXXVIII

For the first time in many years, WWE put out the cash for a Super Bowl ad, this time a promo for April’s WrestleMania XXXVIII pay-per-view event in Dallas, TX. It features announcer – and former NFL player – Pat McAfee dishing out just about every possible superlative to describe the extravaganza. WrestleMania will be headlined by a match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

Young Rock Season 2

The second season of NBC’s sitcom Young Rock arrives on March 15, and a Super Bowl trailer has been released ahead of the show’s big return. It focuses on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s time playing professional football for the Calgary Stampeders as part of the Canadian Football League. Johnson’s original dream was to become a star in football before injuries led him to pursue wrestling.
