SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

For the first time since the Nintendo Gamecube, players are able to play Super Mario Sunshine on the Nintendo Switch with the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection. Along with Sunshine, players can experience Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy all in one collection. Although, the collection will only be available for a limited time, stopping being sold by the end of March 2021. It is unknown why Nintendo is deciding to do this but players who wish to pick up the collection should do it now rather than later. When playing Super Mario Sunshine, Bianco Hills is the first location Mario will venture to. Here are all the shines in Bianco Hills.

All Shine Sprites in Bianco Hills in Super Mario Sunshine

Here are all the available Shine Sprites in Bianco Hills and how to get them.

  • Episode 1: Road to the Big Windmill Shine: When starting the level, head forward then go to the right when passing the small river. Go over the white wall to find a brown puddle. Spray it with water and the goo plant boss will appear. Defeat it for the first shine.
  • Episode 2: Down with Petey Piranha! Shine: Head to the same location at the first shine but this time the pathway will be open to the top of Bianco Hills. Follow the path to the top and challenge Petey Piranha. Players will need to fill up his belly 3 times with water then ground-pound him to win.
  • Episode 3: The Hillside Cave Secret Shine: Head over the white wall again but this time go forward towards the river to find a few logs. Use FLUDD to climb this cliffside to find a hidden level. To beat the level, make sure to take it nice and slow. The boxes move often so look at their pattern before crossing. Once the beginning part is over, cross the green bridge to get to the last challenge of the level. Carefully jump across the two stars to the final platform. Complete the hidden level to get the Shine Sprite.
  • Episode 4: Red Coins of Windmill Village Shine: All of the red coins will be located in Windmill Village. No need to go across the white wall. They are all self-contained in this location. Collect them all the summon the next Shine Sprite.
  • Episode 5: Petey Piranha Strikes Back Shine: Head to Windmill Village and go towards the back and climb up that mountain. Petey Piranha will be sleeping across the gap. Shoot it with one of those small pink creatures to wake him up. He will fly towards the town. Spray him with water to knock him to the ground and use the same method as Episode 2 to finish the fight and collect the shine.
  • Episode 6: The Secret of the Dirty Lake Shine: This is located to the back-right of the boss from the first episode. Climb up the hill to avoid being killed by the water. Players should see a small cave with some logs and a Turbo Nozzle box in front of it. Once the stage begins, the red and blue platforms will alternate with one another so carefully jump across them to the other side. Next, ride on this small clear cube to the other side. If you get close enough, you should be able to wall-jump across. The hardest challenge being the next cube after the moving triangles. Don’t jump but rather walk across each side of the cube. After getting to the top, its more alternating platforms. Carefully time the jumps for these and collect the next shine sprite.
  • Episode 7: Shadow Mario on the Loose Shine: Pursue Shadow Mario in Windmill Village. Continue to spray him until he falls.
  • Episode 8: Red Coins of the Lake Shine: All of the red coins will be located above the Lake. Go across the white wall. They are all self-contained in this location. Using the Rocket Nozzle will make it much easier to collect them all. Collect them all the summon the next Shine Sprite.
  • Bianco Hills Secret Shine #1: Same location as Episode 3’s shine. Just collect all of the red coins before the timer runs out. Much easier with FLUDD.
  • Bianco Hills Secret Shine #2: Same location as Episode 6’s shine. Just collect all of the red coins before the timer runs out. Much easier with FLUDD.
  • Bianco Hills 100-Coin Shine: This is the final shine available at this level. Just go around the level and collect 100 coins for it to spawn. Try doing this mission in Episode 8 to avoid any drama or issues with the environment. The best place to get coins is from the ropes above the lake.

Lastly, there are all of the blue coins in the level. There are 30 blue coins throughout each of these missions, adding up to 3 shines that can be claimed in front of Ricco Harbor. Super Mario Sunshine is also one of the most challenging Mario games in existence. Certain levels are borderline impossible for players to complete, including a flying pachinko machine in the sky, a toxic water lily pad ride, and riding on top of a sand bird across the clouds. Although, these are extremely satisfying to complete. This is one of the toughest Super Mario titles to 100%. Especially for those players who wish to get all of the blue coins throughout every level. Super Mario 3D All-Stars is the best way to experience the game (legally of course).

Super Mario Sunshine is available now on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Gamecube.
