A fanmade app has been created to track down all of Super Mario Sunshine‘s blue coins. Blue coins serve as one of the collectables in Super Mario Sunshine that is required for 100% completion of the game, and tracking them all can be a tedious task.

Blue coins can be found all around Isle Delfino in Super Mario Sunshine. They can be obtained from spraying paint found in hidden locations in the levels with water. They can also be obtained from doing certain tasks, and from many other methods scattered throughout the game. There are 240 blue coins in total, and a shine sprite can be obtained for every ten coins collected. Considering how many coins are present in the game, it’s likely that many players will need assistance tracking them all down.

That’s where this app comes in to assist those who are looking to obtain every blue coin. Reddit user Icy-Cartographer3143 has posted an app called Blue Coin Tracker on the Google Play store for anyone to download. The app has various features to streamline the collecting process, such as a checklist and a series of videos to show exactly where specific blue coins are. The app also runs with no ads for free since it was a “labor of love,” and it can be downloaded now from the Play store.

Part of the motivation Icy-Cartographer3143 gives for posting the app is the fact that the game will be pulled from shelves at the end of the month. Super Mario 3D All-Stars was the first time that Super Mario Sunshine was rereleased outside of the Gamecube. It, along with Super Mario Bros.35, will be pulled from the eShop after March 31st. Since the anthology is just about the only way to play Sunshine without an emulator, a lot of Mario fans will likely miss it once it’s gone. But given that Super Mario 3D All-Stars has become one of the Switch’s best sellers, the strategy of selling limited copies has been working.

However, even after the game is pulled from the eShop, players can still access their own copies of Super Mario 3D All-Stars. That means the app will still have use even after March 31st. So if players require assistance collecting all the blue coins in Super Mario Sunshine, the Blue Coin Tracker will be a boon to many players looking to obtain 100% completion.
