A new theory about Bizarro World appearing in the Arrowverse would provide answers to multiple major mysteries in Superman & Lois season 2. Bizarro World is an important corner of the DC Universe and the home of Bizarro in DC Comics. Based on a few clues, it’s possible that Bizarro World will play a role not only in Superman’s battle with the character, but also Lois’ conflict with Ally Allston (Rya Kihlstedt).

After several misdirects that gave the impression that Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) was on a collision course with Doomsday, Superman & Lois shocked viewers by bringing Bizarro into the picture. The classically misunderstood villain has only appeared in two episodes, and he’s already engaged in multiple, heated clashes with Superman and Steel (Wolé Parks). For the time being, it’s not clear what he actually is, why he looks like Clark, or how he’s connected to the mysterious Dr. Faulker (Catherine Lough Haggquist). And though he did kill two of Anderson’s metahuman soldiers, it hasn’t been confirmed yet if Bizarro is a true villain in the Arrowverse. There’s still so much that the characters and audiences don’t understand about him.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Superman & Lois could answer several of season 2’s biggest questions by delivering the live-action debut of Bizarro World. The show’s exploration of this place could even relate to plotlines that aren’t directly tied to the show’s Bizarro story – yet. Here’s why Bizarro World could be the key to Superman & Lois season 2’s story and the explanation for four important mysteries.

Bizarro World Can Explain Dr. Faulkner’s Role

Despite having only a limited amount of screen-time, Dr. Faulkner appears to be at the center of what’s going on with Bizarro and why he was wreaking havoc in the Smallville mines. Back when he was still thought to be the Arrowverse’s take on Doomsday, Dr. Faulkner said that he was more powerful than they expected, which means she and whoever she was talking to planned his arrival somehow. She also noted that he “came through” something, but didn’t say from where. Her comment implied that he came from a different world, which does seem to be the case at this point. If it’s Bizarro World, it may be that Superman & Lois’ Dr. Faulker and her group created or discovered a doorway to his dimension.

Bizarro World Can Explain His Arrowverse Origin

A deep dive into Bizarro World would allow Superman & Lois an opportunity to properly explore Bizarro’s backstory in the Arrowverse. As noted above, the show has yet to shed any light on his origin. It’s quite possible that the answers it’ll eventually give will come straight from the comics. In most continuities, Bizarro is a denizen of Bizarro World, a planet shaped like a cube that exists as the polar opposite of Earth. This aspect of the planet is taken quite literally in DC Comics, as the people of Bizarro World share ideas and customs that are indeed the reverse of what humans do on Earth. Those who live there are “Bizarro” versions of real people who live on Earth. In other words, Bizarro isn’t the only character on the planet identical to an established superhero. Bizarro World also has its own Batman, Aquaman, Flash, and more.

By using this interpretation of Bizarro World, Superman & Lois can make sense of this character’s resemblance to Clark, why they have the same powers, and how they’re psychically connected. Like the comic character, Bizarro may be the opposite of Superman. If so, a season 2 episode can show him interacting with his own Bizarro family in flashbacks.

Finding Bizarro World May Be Ally Allston’s Real Goal

Bizarro World may secretly have something to do with Ally Allston’s cult. When Lois (Bitsie Tulloch) spoke with Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan), it was explained that Lucy’s suicide attempt was made in an effort to cross over into another “plane of existence”. Apparently, Ally’s teachings were what convinced her that this place exists. She says that it almost worked and that she really did see something when she was dying. Though there is a feeling that Ally has manipulated all of her followers into believing lies about a “plane” that isn’t real, there’s a chance that there is actually a grain of truth to be found in Ally’s words. The place Ally and Lucy want to go could turn out to be real, but just not what she believes it to be. It could be that her cult somehow learned of Bizarro World’s existence some time ago, and arrived at the assumption that they have to induce near-death experiences in order to cross over to Bizarro’s dimension. Ally Allston may think that Bizarro World is some sort of afterlife.

Bizarro World Can Link Both Superman & Lois Season 2 Stories

One of season 2’s biggest mysteries concerns where Superman & Lois plans to connect its Bizarro and Ally Allston stories. At this current juncture, there’s no obvious link between them. One is an all-powerful Superman duplicate and the other is a human cult leader with no super powers at all. They’re villains on completely different levels. As someone without abilities, she works awell as an antagonist for a reporter like Lois Lane – but not Superman. As things stand, she’s a much more grounded villain and not someone who can fit into a Bizarro story. That being said, it’s likely that as the season moves forward, a connection will emerge. After all, that’s what happened in Superman & Lois season 1, even though Lois’ problem with Morgan Edge initially seemed unrelated to John Henry Irons’ vendetta against Superman. By the end of the season, though, it was revealed that Edge’s plan was in fact the threat that Steel was trying so hard to stop.

Similar to what occurred in season 1, Superman & Lois season 2 is expected to eventually streamline its two stories by combining them into one. Bizarro World shows how that can work, and also how Ally can become her comic counterpart. In DC Comics, Alexandra Allston is a version of Parasite, a Superman villain who can drain the energy of their opponents to become more powerful. If Ally’s search for Bizarro World leads her to Bizarro himself, she could end up in the possession of his necklace. Since his fight with Superman on the Kent Farm in episode 4 hinted at Bizarro’s necklace having the ability to drain Superman’s lifeforce, acquiring it could turn Ally into the Arrowverse’s Parasite and in turn, the big bad of the season.
