Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Superman & Lois season 1, episode 14.

The events of Superman & Lois season 1, episode 14 hinted at a villain from The Flash showing up at some point in the show’s future. Crossovers with other Arrowverse characters outside the Man of Steel’s corner of the DC Universe have been rather limited in Superman & Lois season 1, but that might be about to change. This possibility was set up by a Central City reference from Jonathan’s new love interest, Tegan Wickham (Kayla Heller).

The biggest Arrowverse connection used thus far was a guest appearance from Arrow’s John Diggle (David Ramsay) during the battle against a General Zod-possessed Superman (Tyler Hoechlin). However, the creation of Earth-Prime in “Crisis on Infinite Earths” did make more intersection between the various shows in the Arrowverse possible. So even though Superman hasn’t interacted much with figures from Star City and Central City in season 1, these sorts of situations are on the table for whenever Superman & Lois wants a crossover. At any time, Superman could run into an existing Arrowverse hero or villain, whether it be someone from Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, or Batwoman.

Superman & Lois may have just teased an enemy from the Scarlet Speedster’s rogue’s gallery in The Flash crossing paths with the Kents in Smallville. Superman & Lois season 1, episode 14, titled “The Eradicator”, touched on Tegan’s past by having the character explain that she and her mother moved to Smallville two years ago after her dad was arrested and sent to prison in Central City. Her father could of course just be an ordinary criminal, but the specific mention of Central City suggests that there may be more to the story. After all, Central City is the metahuman epicenter of the Arrowverse because of the particle accelerator explosion. Tegan’s father, then, could easily be a metahuman villain who was previously apprehended by Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash.

The most likely option is that he was captured off-screen, which would allow Superman & Lois to introduce a new metahuman villain. Alternatively, Tegan could be the daughter of an established villain from the show, though it’s not clear who it could be. Barry has fought dozens of villains over the years, but of the ones still alive, very few fit the timeline given by Tegan. One candidate would be The Hotness from season 4.

Regardless of who the villain is, this person could go looking for Tegan in Superman & Lois season 2. If that were to happen, Jonathan could somehow get caught in his crosshairs, forcing Superman to intervene and defeat him. Another scenario is that Tegan’s Central City line was meant to provide setup for one of The Flash’s special season 8 episodes. The Flash has five mini-crossovers planned for the beginning of season 8. A team-up with Superman against one of his enemies in Smallville just might be one of them.
