Unfortunately, the original date of Supernatural’s finale has passed by without the episode airing due to the delays caused by COVID-19. However, that has meant fans have become even more hyped up for when the series finale does arrive. This has led to more theories coming out over what might happen.

Since it will be a while before the ending can be seen, it’s worth checking out what fans have to say about the scenarios that could play out. Some of these are pretty ridiculous to consider, and it would be terrible if they end up happening on the show; a few others would be great if turned into canon. That said, here are the perfect and terrible theories over the series finale.

10 Terrible: Jack And Jesse Battle For The Universe

Jesse Turner was meant to be the Antichrist, a sign of the apocalypse. However, the boy chose to run away using his vast amount of powers and hasn’t been seen in the last decade. According to this theory, though, he will not only return but battle with Jack for the universe.

The theory argues that Jesse will be on the camp representing Lucifer while Jack will be on the side of the heroes, but all this sounds ridiculous since it would make Sam and Dean mere bit players. Plus, in this scenario, both Jack and Jesse will destroy the world, which has no chance of happening without Sam and Dean’s involvement.

9 Perfect: The Brothers Die With Jack And Castiel Continuing Their Legacy

This theorist didn’t clarify exactly how the brothers would die, but stressed upon their memory living on. While it would be sad to see the Winchesters pass away without knowing where they went in the afterlife, it would also make for a beautiful interpretation.

The theory also suggests that Jack and Castiel would see Sam and Dean’s inscriptions in the Impala, serving as a final shot of their lasting legacy and leaving the remaining two characters to keep fighting in their memory.

8 Terrible: God Successfully Destroys Everything

If one goes by this theory, Gabriel apparently gave away the ending in Season 5 when he claimed that God could “pull the plug” at any time. Considering Chuck has been doing just that to all of the worlds he’s created, this theory might have some backup.

And yet, this scenario is so bleak that it’s actually laughable. After all, no-one can expect the series to end in complete destruction with no hope or reward, and with Chuck winning no less. Even if Chuck does destroy Earth in canon, there’s no way all doom and gloom is on the cards, as this theory suggests.

7 Perfect: Dean Dies For Sam And Jack Becomes The New God

Although most of the fanbase wouldn’t want Dean to die, it will definitely go with his characterization to sacrifice himself for Sam. This theory predicts that this is what’s in store in the finale, along with Jack’s new role.

In this scenario, the purpose of killing Chuck is for Jack to take his place, thereby ensuring the world continues to go on. Sam will settle down with Eileen while Castiel might join Jack in Heaven. This angle would be bittersweet, but that’s just how Supernatural works.

6 Terrible: Alternate Michael Controls Jack To Kill God

Season 14 had a plotline where Alternate Michael seemed to have vacated Dean, only to reveal that he’d been secretly within him the whole time. This theory predicts a similar case is in store, this time with Jack being the one to be controlled.

The purpose of this twist is to link back to Michael’s claim that he would kill God, and using Jack would certainly empower him to these levels. However, this would just be way too much of an “out there” angle, considering Alternate Michael has been dead for so long. Plus, it would leave out way more questions than answers, making it unfit for a series finale.

5 Perfect: No Supernatural Beings Exist Anymore

One of the funniest storylines from the show happens to be when Sam and Dean arrive in a world where no supernatural beings exist. According to this theorist, though, this is what the fate of the main universe is as well.

The scenario goes that Chuck’s death will mean that there’s no more cosmic stuff around, which also means all supernatural beings die out. While this is farfetched, this might just be the one scenario where the brothers get a fresh start, and it would be nice to see them finally being free.

4 Terrible: Sam And Dean Kill Each Other As God Predicted

This is one of many theories this fan came up with, although this particular one is the most ridiculous. Here, the brothers will end up doing just what Chuck wants, that is taking each other’s lives and end this “story.”

With his task completed of making one brother kill the other, Chuck will simply make another universe and start over the same story. This is the last thing any Supernatural fan would want to see, and there’s no chance the developers will actually throw all the love the Winchesters have displayed for another out like nothing.

3 Perfect: Team Free Will Continues To Hunt

At the end of the day, perhaps no scenario will ever feel fulfilling for fans, so this theory suggests the finale will leave things just as they are now. Here, the heroes will be able to kill Chuck and have no other big bad to go against.

However, as they’ve always devoted their lives to the hunt, Dean, Sam, Castiel, and Jack will simply continue fighting the supernatural. It would mean only simple monsters remain in the world, making it something of a happy ending since all the main characters would be together doing what they do best.

2 Terrible: The Bad Lucifer Future Was Predestined

At one point, Dean was sent to an alternate future where Sam had become Lucifer’s vessel, something that allowed the latter to effectively destroy the Earth. Here, Lucifer also killed the future Dean, and this theory argues that all of this is predestined.

The story will play out with Lucifer once again coming back, and with Chuck wanting the brothers to kill each other, it will be the already-seen future playing out in the present-day. However, that’s all pretty ridiculous since the year was supposed to be 2014 at the time, and the fact that Chuck has no interest in bringing Lucifer back either.

1 Perfect: Reunion In Heaven

Sam and Dean die in this theory about the series finale as well, but fans will get to see them enter Heaven definitively. It won’t just stop there, as this scenario will have all their fallen friends, from Bobby, John, Mary to Charlie, Jo, Ellen, among others, greeting them.

While it is a bit too tooty-frooty for Supernatural, there can definitely be an exception for the ending since the brothers deserve to be reunited with the ones they love. It would also make for one heck of a final shot with so many characters on-screen, and just this one time fans can have a genuinely happy moment to enjoy.
