On March 9, 2022, Survivor 42 debuted, and CBS has finally shared information about the castaways, including Tori Meehan, who has an interesting backstory. The latest installment of CBS’s long-running reality competition will feature Tori, a 25-year-old therapist from Rogers, Arkansas. Tori is a Christian who loves CrossFit and playing board games with her family. She believes her background in clinical psychology will get other players to trust her and expose their weaknesses, thereby giving her the ultimate advantage on the island.

Tori received her Bachelor’s in counseling and psychology from Oral Roberts University. She holds a Master’s degree in professional counseling and she is currently working on her Ph.D. in clinical psychology. In addition to her work as a mental health therapist, Tori is also a certified life coach. However, there are some other things that Survivor fans might be surprised to learn about her.

She Is A Pageant Girl

Tori is a pageant girl. In 2016, the future Survivor contestant was crowned Miss Tulsa State Fair. In 2017, she won Miss Keystone Lake and went on to compete for the Miss Oklahoma crown. The following year, she won Miss Tulsa before heading back to the Miss Oklahoma stage, where she won the preliminary swimsuit competition round. She did not place overall, but she did receive the MOA Scholar Award. She competed again in 2019, and while she was not a finalist, Tori did place 7th in the pageant’s Top 11.

She’s No Stranger To Reality TV

This isn’t Tori’s first time in the reality TV arena. In 2019, she was a contestant on season 3 of the online competition series, Sequester. Episodes of that show can be found via the Sequester Access YouTube page. The show featured a Jigsaw from Saw-inspired host, known as SequesterBot, who guided the 20 participants through a series of competitions. The newest Survivor castaway was eliminated during day 4 of the competition.

She Advocates For Body Positivity

Tori is a self-professed CrossFit fan, which has surely helped her stay in great shape. She believes in the importance of having a positive body image and tries to fight against body shaming via her Instagram page, @tori_the_therapist. She features highlights of her body positivity work, including photos of herself in poses and positions which showcase imperfections, rather than hiding them. She encourages her followers to ignore negative thoughts about themselves and embrace their beauty.

March 9 is on the horizon, and fans can’t wait to see which twists this new Survivor season will have. Season 42 is one of the most diverse Survivor installments yet and audiences are looking forward to seeing how the castmates will interact on the island. Tori should be a worthy competitor. She may become a fan favorite.
