Peih-Gee Law recently admitted that she sneaked a Kit Kat bar onto Survivor. The former castaway competed way back in season 15 of the hit survival competition series. One of the unique twists to Survivor: China was that the contestants were able to kidnap someone from the other tribe if they won a reward challenge. During their brief stay at the other camp, the kidnapped player gained access to an Immunity Idol clue. They weren’t able to use the clue for themselves, though. Instead, they were forced to give it away to someone else.

When the season began, Law competed on the Zhan Hu tribe and stayed there even after a tribal switch. She managed to stay past the merge but was ultimately voted out with five players left on Survivor. When Amanda Kimmel, Courtney Yates and Todd Herzog made it to the final Tribal Council, Law was one of the four majority members of the jury who voted for Herzog to win. She returned for Survivor: Cambodia — Second Chance eight years later but was the third player voted out.

While speaking with EW, Law reveals that she was able to sneak a Kit Kat bar onto Survivor, via her father. “In Survivor: China, my dad was my loved one for the family visit. He’s always been a bit of a clever trickster, and he managed to sneak a Kit Kat into my pocket when he hugged me goodbye. He told me that he picked a Kit Kat because it was square and fit into his back pocket without it showing,” she admitted. She shared the candy with fellow tribemates Courtney and Erik, adding, “It honestly gave us all such a huge morale boost.

The Kit Kat bar wasn’t the only item she managed to sneak onto Survivor. Unlike the chocolate bar, her other item was taken away by producers. She continued, “I sewed a flint toggle button onto my cardigan that made it all the way onto the show but ended up getting confiscated by production. I remember one of the producers telling me that was the first time anyone managed to sneak a flint onto the show. He said he would have loved to tell that story, but that they just couldn’t allow it.” Law believes she should have been allowed to use the flint from her cardigan because other contestants bring reading glasses with them so they can start a fire at camp.

It’s not surprising that contestants try to sneak food onto Survivor, and it’s unlikely that Law is the only one to do it. It would be interesting to find out if other family members have attempted the same thing over the years when visiting the island. Survivor is a grueling experience for the players, both physically and mentally. That’s why they always love the reward challenges that involve winning food.

Viewers can expect the series to return to CBS in the fall. Production began recently on Survivor season 41, which was delayed for a year because of the coronavirus pandemic. After Law’s admission, producers might want to keep a closer eye on the players’ family members when they visit.
