Survivor season 41 recently ushered in the newest generation of the hit CBS show. While the Survivor season has its flaws, the latest installment introduced audience members to some of the finest contestants to play the game in quite some time, including fan-favorite Ricard Foyé. He proved himself to be a major influence on the entire franchise, as well as the other players in his season. His Survivor legacy is firmly cemented, although he failed to earn the title of “Sole Survivor”. However, many fans hope that he still has more to add to that legacy.

Foyé was one of the final two members of the ill-fated Ua tribe. There, he formed a seemingly tight bond with Shantel “Shan” Smith. While he may have been overshadowed by her in the early game, he certainly demonstrated that he was superior in the late game. He was ultimately voted out at the final five, after failing to convince his fellow tribemates to vote out Deshawn Radden. However, Survivor alum Ricard still wants to return to the island, despite his loss. Since he was one of the biggest threats during his season, it is clear that he absolutely deserves another chance.

Ricard first set himself apart from the other players very early in the game. He was the only one to address the need for gender-inclusive language with host, Jeff Probst. As mentioned, he formed a strong alliance with Shan Smith to survive the constant culling of the Ua tribe. Later in the game, he managed to organize a blindside against her and won nine challenges to maintain a dominant spot until the final five. The other four remaining players all agreed that he had the best chance of winning.

The truth is that Ricard was so likable and respected that Xander Hastings strongly considered using his immunity idol to save him. He played such a great game that even Survivor all-star and analyst Rob Cesternino predicted he would win the season. Even without the victory, Ricard has won the adoration of many fans and players.

He showcased himself as shrewd, talented, and likable, even against some of the strongest competitors to ever play the game. It will truly be a shame if he never utilizes those qualities again on Survivor. Regardless, there is no doubt that Ricard will be successful in whatever direction life takes him. Hopefully, audience members will get to see him in a future season of the show.
