Fishing in Tales of Arise can be an unwinding diversion between perilous adventures and battling enemies, but sometimes, this seemingly relaxing hobby can also pose its own challenges, such as catching the Silver Marlin boss fish. Unlike other fish, the Silver Marlin will demand players’ utmost skill and fishing techniques in Tales of Arise to capture it. It only appears at one of the world’s twelve fishing spots, making it possibly challenging to locate.

On top of being hard to find, the Silver Marlin requires a particular type of lure to be caught. Players can’t simply buy it with Gald either, as the bait requires patience and perseverance to unlock. The recommended fishing rods for the Silver Marlin are the Fishing Sniper and Alliance Marine Rod, and whichever one is used will depend on the player’s preference. Here’s how to find and catch the elusive Silver Marlin in Tales of Arise.

To catch the Silver Marlin boss fish in Tales of Arise, players must first obtain the Silver Fang, a unique lure used specifically for baiting the marlin. Players can acquire the Silver Fang by catching 40 different fish across the fishing spots in the world. After doing so, they can travel to Talka Pond Road within Menancia. There, players can speak with the Fishing Expert to receive the Silver Fang.

How to Catch the Silver Marlin Boss Fish in Tales of Arise

Players will also need a decent fishing rod to catch the Silver Marlin, preferably one with a high rarity. The Fishing Sniper can be earned by catching 20 different fish and speaking to the Fishing Expert in Talka Pond Road. Another excellent choice is the Alliance Marine Rod which is a reward for beating the Level 60 Solo Ultimate trial for Kisara in Tales of Arise. To take on this challenge, players need to visit the Viscint Training Grounds (within the capital of Elde Menancia).

The fishing location of the Silver Marlin in Tales of Arise is accessed at the Hidden Wharf in Mahag Saar.
