Roy Kent’s apology playlist for Keeley from Ted Lasso season 2 is now available on Apple Music. Ted Lasso premiered on Apple TV+ in August 2020 and quickly became a huge hit for the streaming service. The series stars Jason Sudeikis as Ted alongside a talented ensemble cast including Brett Goldstein (who also writes for the show) as Roy Kent and Juno Temple as Keeley Jones. Ted Lasso season 1 garnered an impressive 20 Emmy nominations and season 2 is currently airing.

Fan favorites Roy and Keeley delighted viewers by falling in love during season 1, and continue to deepen their relationship in season 2. However, in season 2, episode 7, “Headspace,” the lovebirds go through a rough patch. As much as she adores Roy, Keeley begins to grow frustrated by the fact that he seems to be with her at all times, never giving her time to herself. Throughout the episode, Keeley struggles with her feelings and finally loses her temper when Roy interrupts an appropriately-themed episode of Sex and the City. Though the couple has a big fight and Roy storms out, he soon comes to understand Keeley’s need for space (ironically, by talking to Keeley’s ex-boyfriend and Roy’s least favorite former teammate, Jamie Tartt). In a move that sets the bar high for romantic partners everywhere, Roy makes it up to Keeley by drawing her a bath filled with rose petals in a candlelit bathroom, promising her some time to herself, and making her a “Roy Is Sorry for Not Understanding Keeley” apology playlist.

Now, fans of Ted Lasso season 2can listen to Roy Kent’s apology gift to Keeley for themselves thanks to Apple Music. Apple has released the full 70-song playlist for those signed up to the service. Apple Music calls the collection the ultimate “I’m sorry” playlist” and says it’s “sure to tug at the heartstrings—just like Coach Lasso.” Read the full description of Keeley’s playlist below:

“The title of the playlist says it all. If you caught the “Headspace” episode in the second season of Ted Lasso on Apple TV+, you may have picked up on this reference to the ultimate “I’m sorry” playlist, curated by Roy Kent (played by Brett Goldstein) for his beloved Keeley (Juno Temple). Expertly packed with the soul-warming sounds of Sade, Maxwell, and Lianne La Havas, these tracks are sure to tug at the heartstrings—just like Coach Lasso. If you hear anything you like, just add it to your library. And don’t miss new episodes of Ted Lasso—Fridays on Apple TV+.”

Roy is clearly a big fan of the smooth and soulful Sade, since 24 of the 70 tracks on the playlist are by the English band. In addition to Sade, Maxwell, and Lianne La Havas, the playlist features songs from iconic artists like Norah Jones, Elton John, Chicago, and The Beatles. The whole thing runs for just under five hours; more than enough time for Keeley to take a nice long bath.

Releasing the apology playlist is a fun move on Apple Music’s part, and it allows viewers to develop an even stronger connection to what was already a much-loved plot point. Roy’s apology to Keeley was certainly a romantic moment, though whether it will be the end of their rough patch remains to be seen. Goldstein previously teased trouble ahead for Roy and Keeley, and there’s no way to know yet if that trouble has passed. Sex and the City enthusiasts may remember that the episode Keeley was watching featured a fight between Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan (John Corbett) that ended in the couple making up, only for Carrie to call off their engagement two episodes later. Roy and Keeley fans will definitely be hoping the similarities to Carrie and Aidan don’t persist as Ted Lasso season 2 continues.
