Teen Mom: Father of Chelsea Houska’s Baby Criticized Over Resurfaced Clip

Adam Lind, father to Teen Mom 2 star Chelsea Houska’s first-born daughter, received some hefty backlash from fans when an old clip of him putting newborn Aubree into a car seat surfaced on Reddit. Four years after leaving the MTV show, Adam made a comeback to social media in an Instagram photo on his sister Chelsie’s account. While he may still obtain partial parental rights over 11-year-old Aubree, Adam signed the rights of his youngest daughter Paislee to his ex-girlfriend Taylor Halbur.

Viewers were introduced to Adam and Chelsea when they first appeared on 16 & Pregnant season 2 back in 2010. Fans watched as the then-couple juggled their hectic lives as young adults with the pressures of caring for their first child, Aubree. A decade later, Adam has gotten into his fair share of legal troubles as a result of not paying child support. A bench warrant for his arrest was issued on January 11, 2020, and after getting pulled over for a missing license plate, Adam was arrested eight months later. The warrant was coupled with a $2,000 bail fee that was to be sent to the Division of Child Support in order to cover his debt. He got into a similar situation in March 2021 when he failed to send Chelsea the funds to support their daughter once again.

When old footage of Adam setting Aubree into her car seat began circling around Reddit recently, the ex-Teen Mom 2 father started receiving an onslaught of backlash from fans of the show. Even though the clip dated back to one of the family’s first few glimpses on television, commenters had a lot to say about Adam’s past arrests and the overall neglect of Aubree that’s been depicted on the decade-old Teen Mom franchise. They compared his care of Aubree to that of Chelsea’s current boyfriend, Cole, saying that Aubree is lucky to have a father figure like him in her life instead of her biological father. The majority of the comments had to do with the way in which Adam actually positioned Aubree in the car seat. Many acquainted Adam’s initial parenting skills to the lack of traditional infant car safety procedures displayed within the video. One said, “I would rather carry my baby and walk home than allow her to ride in such an unsafe situation.”

Adam isn’t the only one receiving heat from fans. While most photos that Chelsea takes with her personal trainer husband, Cole, get overwhelmingly positive feedback, one in particular got Teen Mom 2‘s Reddit supporters in a serious frenzy. While attending an Eric Church concert, the couple posed for a photo amongst a large crowd of fellow unmasked attendees. Reddit users expressed their disapproval of the couple’s willingness to attend large gatherings without facial coverings. The vocal majority of the message boards had to do with the risk that Cole and Chelsea could have brought upon their four children back at home.

While fans may not see him doing his part to support Aubree financially, Adam certainly makes an effort to maintain his relationship with his first-born daughter. Aubree eats lunch with her father at school every Wednesday, as well as spending a weekend each month at his mother’s home. Though the Reddit’s community of Teen Mom 2 fans may have their opinions on Adam’s parenting skills, Chelsea has gone on record saying that their co-parenting situation has had its positive moments in the recent past.
