Jenelle Evans is firing back at fellow Teen Mom star Amber Portwood, questioning why she got fired for her behavior, yet Amber is still allowed to film after multiple domestic violence arrests. Both these women had difficult roads during their time on the show, and fans are split on their opinions on both of them. Amber and Jenelle have both been in and out of jail, and suffer from mental illnesses. In Teen Mom season 1 of her show, Jenelle recognized that she wasn’t ready for motherhood, and signed over custody of her son to her mother. It seemed as though she assumed she would get custody back soon, however she still doesn’t have custody of him 12 years later. That remains a point of contention between her and her mom.

Similar to Jenelle, Amber also doesn’t have custody of her daughter Leah, who she shares with her ex Gary Shirley. Amber lost custody after she was arrested and sentenced to prison time for possession of drugs. This came after she was arrested for domestic violence for attacking Gary in front of Leah. She seemed to get out of prison having turned a new leaf, getting on bipolar medication, and even welcoming a son with her boyfriend Andrew Glennon. Amber then lost custody of her son, after attacking Andrew with a machete while he was holding him. She also has a strained relationship with her daughter who feels Amber always puts men before her.

In an Instagram Live, Jenelle went off on Amber for calling her trash, questioning why she still gets to film with MTV. As reported by Monsters and Critics, Jenelle doesn’t think it’s fair that she got fired because of her legal while Amber is still allowed to be on the show despite having similar issues. During the live, Jenelle brought up Amber’s incident with the machete and her relationship issues with her daughter, saying it’s hypocritical for Amber to insult her with all these skeletons in her closet. She claims to have gotten fired for no reason, while Amber is allowed to stay after multiple violent outbursts. Jenelle went on to say she knows everyone on the cast hates her, but she doesn’t know why, especially since Amber and Andrew used to double date with her and her husband David Eason. Although Jenelle doesn’t think it’s fair Amber is still filming, she says she doesn’t hold that against Amber since she isn’t the one who makes those decisions.

Later during the live video, Jenelle claimed a lot has changed in her life that she wishes fans would be able to see. She claims to have grown as a person, and much of the toxicity from her life is now gone. Fans will remember the tumultuous relationship she had with her ex Nathan Griffith and how horribly her mom and David got along. According to Jenelle, everyone in her life gets along great now and there is very little drama in her family life now. She is upset fans didn’t get to see her turn her life around, but also admitted that filming was very traumatic for her. While she thinks her firing was unfair, she isn’t exactly begging MTV to hire her back.

Jenelle considers her time on Teen Mom to be really traumatic, and considering her life has turned around since getting off the show, is it possible that the stress of the show was ruining all her relationships? Many reality TV stars have said being on TV led to the destruction of many relationships in their lives, so it could be possible. Maybe Jenelle getting fired was a positive thing for her and she shouldn’t waste any more energy on wondering why she’s no longer part of the cast.
